Historical entertainment thread
What are some great historical movies/series/games /his/?
Just gone done watching Rome, was pretty good, sucks ass they ended it after two seasons for being too expensive though, had a lot of potential.
Is the Spartacus series worth watching?
Not really, Spartacus is probably shit tier if you liked Rome, it's certainly not as sophisticated or as involved as Rome was in a historical context
I just watched "Desiree" with Marlon Brandon, about the chick Napoleon almost married. It was boring as fuck but at the same time kind of entertaining in that cheesy 50s way.
How is the Napoleon miniseries with Christian Clavier?
Waterloo
i love spartacus but i must admit more than half the show was just sex
i still miss andy
the show probably would have lasted longer if he hadnt died
rip brah

It lasted long enough for what was basically sexploitation: the series

>Is the Spartacus series worth watching?
Spartacus is 300: sex & homosex edition. If you liked Rome you'll probably hate it.
If you want another series about Rome, watch I, Claudius.
If you want to watch a good historical movie, watch Master & Commander.
If you want a good historical game, give up because there's none.
Watch Deadwood if you like that era, or even if you don't.

Does anyone know where to stream I, Claudius? It used to be on Youtube, but the videos were taken down.
Romance of the Three Kingdom titles on PS2 are pretty based, even if they are based on romanticized history.
spartacus is great, but not for its historical accuracy. it's just entertainment done really well.

I suppose you could call m&b and civ historical insofar as m&b being in a medieval setting and civ having historical nations but Id say stick to ck2/eu4 etc uf you want a less fictional setting.

Theres also Vikings and the Last Kingdom OP, obviously not historical accurate, but good fun non-the-less.
