Morals are simply humans being able to coexist and advance society. I'm not being reductionist; if we had no morals, there would be no cohesiveness, and thus no advancement.
I don't see what's so hard to understand. It's an evolutionary trait. Humans work better together, as simple as that. Nihilism is just a product of not needing to work to live 24/7 so we have time to actually reflect on how insignificant we are. We still eat, fuck and shit like all other beings, so we've just constructed "morals" because we have the capacity to do so.
