Anybody else feel guilty for the burning of Persepolis by Alexander the Great even though you're not Greek or Macedonian, but because you're white?

Not sure if bait or not. To answer your question: no, I have no guilt when it comes to the actions of others of my race. I don't see the point of feeling guilt for the actions of others simply because you share the racial make-up of the perpetrators. Why feel guilt for things you did not commit?

Imperialism isn't a purely Western idea. Why feel guilt for things you had no control over? Should everyone everywhere feel guilt over the destruction of other cultures? Should everyone of Mongolian blood feel guilt over the destruction of Samarkand? Many societies of every race destroyed different cultures.

Alexander himself made a point to visit the tomb of Cyrus the Great and some historians suggest that the burning was an accident. So perhaps he was more respectful to Persians than we are giving him credit for?
Anyway it's been far too long for anyone to know for sure.
If wish for some cultural destruction to feel guilty about consider the destruction of temples and states in Palmyra by ISIL.

Compared to how much Alexander preserved in relation to what any other conqueror would have, I don't feel guilty at all.
Persepolis is remembered because it was his one mistake in an otherwise very lenient policy for a conqueror. Was it deliberate? Was it because he was drunk? We'll never know. Most likely an act of frustration after Darius had escaped him twice.
