hebrew and other semitic languages like arabic are all descended from the same proto-language. it's part of a larger, well-established language family called afroasiatic.

This is honestly the result of Jews (one of Israel's tribes) trying to monopolize the entire Biblical narrative as their own.
Notice the Samaritans for example, they believe they are descended from Ephraim and Manasseh, thus they call themselves Israelites (Bene Israel) but not Jews (Yehudim).
Much of the post-Pentateuch scriptures, pretty much beginning with Ezra, deal with the Jews chimping out that the other Israelite groups are not true Israelites but some sort of imposters.
