Is Marxism compatible with nationalism?

Sure it is.

As I understand it, Marxian Marxism is not compatible with nationalism but various strains of Marxism (in particularly Stalinism) are, yes.

Socialism in One Country > Perpetual Revolution

National Communism is literally indistinguishable from Nazism.

Let me make myself clear:
Pile of shit > Socialism in One Country > drinking bleach > Nazism > drinking more bleach > Perpetual Revolution

A stateless society excludes nationalism, so no.

Bits and pieces. My country has a nationalistic communist party. They want to separate from the UE, or at least to drop the Euro.

>>567973
Marxism was the Twilight of it's era. Nobody takes it seriously anymore

Explain to me, based only of its politics, why national socialism is bad enough that even humoring it should be followed with suicide?

Frankly, if what the Germans did is cause enough to forever revile National Socialism as a political system, even in a vacuum, every form of government should be denounced for the endless crimes and suffering caused under them.
>>
>>569879
not him, but I personally feel as though it's a kind of hypocritical system. Socialism is promoting equality, but the nationalism aspect means you're only equal if you were born in this country, it's a literal some animals are more equal than others situation.
>>
>>569906
It's not hypocritical as presented. Nothing about "socialism" inherently defines or requires a specific degree of reach. It simply takes socialist promotion of general welfare and confines to a defined national or cultural group.

In a sense, it makes sense, and it is easier to convince people to collectively sacrifice for the good of others they perceive to be more like themselves, ie. sharing a common culture.

I'm not national socialist, but the foundational idea is not illogical.
>>
>>567991
.If you are not retarded you can easily see the difference between both. Nazism protects the private property of the means of production while communism doesn't.
>>
>>569945
>of others they perceive to be more like themselves

abstract AF. Historically speaking.
>>
>>570182
>abstract AF
Obviously, as different people have self-identified on different bases obviously they would perceive similarity on different bases.
>>
>>567973
Seeing what happened in Asian Communism:

No.
>>
>>570207
>perceive similarity on different bases
more generic than this you die.
and it basically stands for the core fallacy of nat.soc.: vastly idiotic homogenization /generalization.
yes, most people have feet. so fucking what.

You don't know how people work I take it.

Take an ethology or social psychology class.
>>
>>567973
not according to Mussolini. Though you could argue Stalin used it in WWII when he realized his army didn't give a shit about fighting for Marxism.
>>
>>567973
To an extent. You can be a Marxist and a nationalist, especially since national-liberation was historically a very Marxist idea.

However in Marxism national identity is supposed to eventually erode to nothing under the much more important class-identity.

You know, sometimes we have to draw a line in the sand and say, hey, over here this is us, our people, and we are going to do these things to make ourselves better. Sorry, but maybe you should do the same.
This is what we call a nation, people just saying "let's fix our own fucking shit as a common people with a like background"
