Why isn't the center of Christianity at Jerusalem etc? Why is it "Rome" (Jesus never went to Rome), "Constantinople" (Jesus never went to Constantinople), etc?

Is it because it's more about the ROMAN EMPIRE and how they institutional Christianity and it is now less about Jesus and more about ROMAN EMPIRE POWER. Italy/Rome makes millions and billions of dollars off Christianity every single year.

It's idiotic to put the center of religion in an area that's seemingly wanted and militarily targeted by everybody, that's why. The capital of an empire would provide the most resources to build and lead and organized religion.
>>
Rome is where the political power was that made it possible to declare themselves the center of Christianity. It is doubtful whether St. Peter actually was the first pope in Rome.
So yeah, it was about power not about religion
>>
>Why isn't the center of Christianity at Jerusalem
Roman-Jewish wars, then persecution of Christians by Romans.

>etc?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_centers_of_Christianity

>Jesus never went to
The apostles and their disciples did, preaching and establishing churches all over the place.

>Italy/Rome makes millions and billions of dollars off Christianity every single year
The Holy Land has its tourist attractions and pilgrimage sites as well.

Rome owned jesus

Basically the great schism, muslim conquests, and the fall of the byzantines are why Rome is the only remaining great Christian city

why is rome hooly? why is constantinople holy?
>>

Rome is Holy because of Saint Peter. Constantinople isn't really "Holy" it's more it became the center of the Orthodox faith since they couldn't base their religion in Rome.
>>
>>567813
Because both of them were centers of the Roman Empire.

And we all know the Roman Empire never fell. It just became a religion.

Center of Christianity is a point in your heart.
It's Jesus - Son of the Highest God, God Himself - that calls you back to everlasting Life and forgives your sins.

>>Rome is Holy because of Saint Peter.

Christ built his Church on a rock.
If that rock moves to Rome for some reason that makes Rome more important.
Not like Mecca to Muslims or Jerusalem to Jews, where the entire religion is basically built around it, it's more of a symbol.
>>

So Peter never actually went to rome it's just holy?

Mecca is symbolic too btw

Before 1948, Jerusalem was majority Christian.

Apparently the Anglos didn't like that.
>>
>>567816
>they couldn't
They didn't want to.
Rome was a pesky small town whereas constantinople was the greatest city of Europe.
>>

Saint Peter was the first pope.
Peter is greek for rock.

Its one of those things that is very hard to actually explain because history is mixed with an interpretation of an oft retranslated holy text concentrating on a symbolic religious figure who was both real and has extremely strong faith swirling of the story.

Tl:dr its a clusterfuck of symbolism but st peter the first pope is the rock that the church was built upon.

Because Peter was important as a choir leader(no, really, that's one of his titles in cathortodoxy) of the Apostles, and Rome was a important christian center in the Empire, the capital of the Roman Empire, one of the three petrine sees, and a martyrdom place for Peter and Paul.
Constantinopole was the second in the canonical taxis, the empire of the Byzantine Empire, and the most important see in the East after the Schism
Alexandria was the third, and the most important see after the chalcedonian schism.
Jerusalem is also one of the sees of the Pentarchy, and is making mad bucks from pilgrims as well.
>>
>>568552
Oh yeah, and Alexandria is also a petrine see.
>>
who's bigger, peter or jesus? It seems like jesus didn't achieve much, it was all peter
>>
>>568562
You mean Paul.

90% of Christian doctrines as we know them now are Pauline.
