Scandinavian countries (as well as Iceland) all abolished slavery before the year 1400 and were quick to institute social democracy. By contrast, many influential fascist thinkers as well as a not insignificant percentage of the Nazi leadership were composed of Southern and Central Europeans. Why is this?
