What's your favorite ancient wonder?
>>
>>539014

Colossus of Rhodes IF you could sail under his chiseled balls.

If not, the Pyramids for obvious reasons.
>>
>>539014
Tower of Babel of course.
>>
>>539031
The colossus stood presumably inland
>>
>>539053
There's a good documentary about the wonders. It would be visible by ships of course but it wasn't as close as people think.
>>
the Hanging Gardens sound nice
>>
>>539083
Yeah if ur a fag
>>
>>539014
Colossus' size disappointed me, so I'd go with the Hanging Gardens
>>
>>539014
Great library for the free tech
>>
>>539014
colossus is best
>>539128
quit being a cock
>>
>>539014
Temple of Artemis
>>
gonna have to go with the pyramids considering how insanely old they are and the fact that they're still standing today. Did you know that more time had passed between the building of the pyramids and the reign of Cleopatra than between the reign of Cleopatra and today?
>>
>>539187
Ayyy
>>
>>539014
Tower of Babel.
>>
>>539187
M8, pyramids are ridiculous in civ. Universal suffrage in the fucking stone age, my man.
>>
Pyramids
>>
>>539014
The lighthouse of Alexandria
>>
Solomon's Temple
>>
>>539014
The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, because it was basically a monument to wincest.
>>
>>539035
>>539251
wtf?
>>
>>539014
Colossus of course anyone who says otherwise is a low test beta
>>
>>539014
The Great Pyramids, because it's older than the rest of the wonders by as much as those wonders are older than us.
>>
>>541028
I would say colossus if it still existed.
So i will go with pyramids.
>>
>>539128
irl fag here love the hanging gardens!
>>
why didn't northern europe have any grand ancient civilizations or wonders of the world?
>>
>>541181
too busy fighting the physical manifestions of the kali yuga with their hyperborean chakra magick desu
>>
>>541181
Civilization develops more quickly along trade routes and in alluvial flood plains. Northern Europe didn't really have either, beyond a few Greek merchants trading weapons for amber in the Baltics.

>7 Wonders of the Modern World
>some of them were built BC

This shit really upsets me.
>>
>>541235
your reading skills upset me
it's says "new wonders of the world", not "modern world"
>>
>>541235
Where is the Flavian Amphitheatre?
I mean that should qualify.
>>
>>541181
80% of Scandinavia was covered in glaciers when the ancient civilizations kicked around. Once they had a civilization going, they wandered south as the two kind of Goths (from Gothia in Sweden but more known for fucking off from Gothia because the climate and food was shit). Really, Scandinavia have been utter shit to live in pretty much all the time except for the last 70 years.
>>
>>541280
You're very wrong there mate
>>
>>541188
>>541190
>>541280
so what's your excuse for western europe, british islands, portugal, and spain?
>>
>>541235
Why the fuck is Christ in this list?
>>
>>541235
Petra obviously if you got a good desert start

Add in desert folklore and it's a king of a city
>>
>>541330
*tips fedora*
>>
>>541235
The only BC one I can see is Petra
>>
Friendly reminder that the Egyptian Sphinx of Giza was used as target practice by Egyptian and Ottoman troops before European salvaged it.
>>
>>541235
Petra is really not that great.

>the Pyramids are the only ancient wonder to survive to this day
this makes me sad
>>
>>541401
yeah if you roll a good desert hill city you will talk different
>>
>>541401
Other finalists included Hagia Sophia, Statue of Liberty, Alhambra or the Eiffel Tower. We may argue if any of these choices would've been more fitting. We have a lot of wonders in the world. Choosing 7 may be too difficult.
>>
>>541463
Should go with like three for each continent desu
>>
>>541467
I dunno man, would be difficult for Portugal and africa.

I'll clearly go for the Artemision of Ephesus.
It was huge, and way more complicated to build than the pyramids.
Also, op's pic shows a retarded renaissance depiction of it.

Why isn't Uruk a world heritage site?

>5000+ year old city, with decent ruins
>Some earliest forms of writing found in city
>Where Gilgamesh ruled, Epic of Gilgamesh being the earliest great peace of literature discovered
>Iraq possibly named after the city
>One of the largest cities in early human civilization and most prosperous in Sumerian civilization
>>
>>548192
looks like feces now
>>
>>539014
