A good argument against the universe having any teology is how old it is. If there was a purpose to it should have reached it by now, universe is what 13 billion years old? Humans have only been around the universe for less .1% of the time so trying to say humans fit into is stupid. What we see is not the universe being formed with the goal of having intelligent apes (he would have just spawned the earth from the start if that's what mattered) but a purposless set of natural laws giving rise to increasingly more complex permutations, taking thousands of millions of years for each step.
