He meant it's located on Lake Chad, which was navigable in those days.

forgot to mention

>"Atlantis is located beyond the Pillars of Hercules." - Plato
>The Pillars of Hercules was the phrase that was applied in Antiquity to the promontories that flank the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar.
>The Strait of Gibraltar is a narrow strait that connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea.
>Atlantic Ocean
>Atlantic = Belongs to Atlantis

now you know where it is
>>
>>493457
:Atlantic" comes from "Atlas". Atlantis is a fucking story with a moral, Plato was a philosopher not a historian. It's real as the road from Christ's parable about seeds.

No, the character in the story. Aladdin is "Chinese" in that he's whatever the fuck the author wants.
>>
>>493471
>The first part of its name refers to Atlas of Greek mythology, making the Atlantic the "Sea of Atlas".

Not even that guy, but the atlantic ocean refers to Atlas. Notice that the mountain range in Morocco is known as the Atlas mountains as well. The utter west was seen as 'the territory of Atlas' by the greeks

>The oldest known mention of "Atlantic" is in The Histories of Herodotus around 450 BC (Hdt. 1.202.4): Atlantis thalassa (Greek: Ἀτλαντὶς θάλασσα; English: Sea of Atlas)

Herodotus lived a century before Plato

Atlantic means an inhabitant of Atlantis, in addition to the name of the ocean. Two separate, English words. What's wrong with that? Besides your faggotry?

t. stands for "terveiset" which means "regards" in Finnish, it's an /int/ maymay

For example, when someone asks what does t. mean and another person replies to him with "t. newshit", the latter is implying that the former is new

Tarshish is the name the jews in the bible and Assyrians reffered to the land in the west known for its silver and fleet.

The only mention of the name Tharshish in the west is in an ancient documents written in the phoenician alphabet around the 9-8th century bc mentioning the name Tharshish even if Cross and other scholars tried translating it, there is not a widely accepted translation yet.

While archeologists searched for a great deal of time in Southern Spain for Tartessos or Tharshish they NEVER found it.

While in Sardinia a monumental civilization flourished during the bronze age and continued existing in the early iron age, during that time the Nuragics (Sardinian people) and Phoenician people met and:
"Recent researches (2010) have nevertheless demonstrated that the old idea of a Nuragic civilization collapsing upon the arrival of Phoenicians and their colonization of Sardinia, is completely outdated. Phoenicians started to arrive in Sardinia around the 9th century BC, in small number, and remained scattered along the coastline. This period was the heyday of Nuragic society and Phoenicians started to cooperate with the Nuragics that, in turn, continued to administer harbours and economic resources.[48]"

Tarshish was described as an island by Assyrians and Sardinia is full of very ancient cities and coastal settlements while there are none noticeable ones in the area were Tartessos is supposed to be in Spain.

Plus the Sardinian people produced an enormous quantity of bronze models of ships of different sizes and shapes, this only enforced the theory that Tarshish was located in Sardinia since Tharshish was known for its fleet.

Also the native Sardinian civilization reached its peak during the early iron age when it was mentioned in the bible and disappeared around 500 bc because of the Carthaginians who overtook much of the island, coincidentally that's the time when most early greek explorers stop mentioning it.

The first statues in Europe in fact appeared in Sardinia around 1000-750 bc, the giants of monte Prama, this shows the dominant role that Sardinia had during that time in the western mediterrenean.

This image shows the amount of oxhide ingots found in Sardinia to give you an idea of the role Sardinia had during the late bronze age and early iron age, Sardinian pottery can in fact be found since the bronze age in the eastern med and Sardinians had frequent contacts with the Levantine people since very ancient times.

In fact a recent discovery of melon seeds dating to 1300-1550 bc in some Nuragic wells leads us to believe that Sardinia was the first place in western Europe were melons were cultivated and during that time Sardinia could've gotten them only from north Africa or the Levant.
