When is Monarchy better than Democracy?
It has been proven to work through pretty much all of human history, both systems have their own Downs and Ups, what could make Monarchy a better suited system in contemporary world?

Monarchy/autocracy may work better in the short term if you have a great leader but in the long run it becomes shit
>>466767
Democracy also can fail if incompetent leaders are selected
The UK gets some sweet tourist dollars from their monarchy.
>>466775
But at least there's the legitimate option of getting some other ones
>>466767
What? Monarchs don't become worse as you go further down the line and there are often changes in dynasties that bring in new blood.
I believe that while monarchy and other autocratic systems have the most potential, democracy it's the most "realistic" one, since one incompetent/bad monarch could Fuck up a whole nation while ONE bad president/whatever couldn't do this
>>468708
This. In an idealist world, monarchy/autocracy is the best option, but realistically, democracy best handles the inherent corruption in people
>>466707
Why is a meritocracy better then both?
>>466707
A monarchy is good when everybody in the nation agrees the monarch adequately represents their opinions and ideas.
This never happens today in a country with freedom of speech and expression, which is why practically every modern dictatorship / monarchy is a freedomless shithole.
In as opinionated of a society as today, we need to have the ability to choose multiple people who represent us, not have one guy distantly related to another guy do it.
>>469108
We are too opinionated.
we will never have peace until we aren't

During the French revolution the monarchies of Europe provided stability and safety whereas the democratic-republican France was constant torn by civil strife.
>>466775
But it is self correcting. It just needs time.
>>466707
When you're the King.
>>466707
>When is Monarchy better than Democracy?
When you have been invested with divine right by God.
>>468708
depends if its an absolute monarchy
>>466707
>what could make Monarchy a better suited system in contemporary world?
We have one, it's called a Constitutional Monarchy. You get all the perks of a hereditary head of state without the shenanigans of inter-royal politics and despotism.
>It has been proven to work through pretty much all of human history
Yes, if you don't take into account all the human lives that were lost.
Do you seriously think that people gave a shit about paupers? They were basically slaves, usually to a landowner
>>466775
Democracy is self correcting.
Meanwhile correcting a Monarchy = shit dynastic wars.
>>466707
>I don't like minor inconveniences and imperfections under democracy
Only edgy little shits think they would be better off under monarchy. Problems you experience under a democracy would only increase. You wouldn't be one of the people to benefit, you'd get cucced along with 99% of the population.

>You get all the perks of a hereditary head of state
Really? What perks are those?

Pic related. An "ideal autocrat" that sent millions off to die due to his post-peace tantrums.
No need for an absolutist monarchy, that could very likely result in tyranny. There need to be sufficient checks and balances in the form of the aristocracy. In fact, even aristocratic republic would be fine, very much preferable to democracy.

Why not have a meritocratic monarchy like with the ottomans let the most politic savy monarch rule while the others die .
>>470080
A cool coat of arms on everything and a feeling of false superiority
The argument is usually that monarchs are dedicated to the country while politicians are dedicated to their careers and elections.
Please don't capitalize down, especially when it's plural.

Depends if its an absolute QUADS
An absolute monarchy can still be disposed of by the people. Even your loyal cadre of praetorian guards can still usurp you. Democracy, while less effective in administrating law and order, does not have the problems of violent uprisings like autocracies do because the people in charge are only temporary
