What was the connection between prohibition and first wave feminism? Are the people who describe it as a proto-SJW movement right?
>>461690
You seem to forget that prohibition by and large is also a product of Very Conservative Protestant elements in American society.
Who are quite the opposite of SJWness.
>>461690
Iirc prohibition was a big thing for Christians, not feminists. It's better to describe it as a proto war on drugs
prohibition! It's sooooo baddd guise EVERYBODY KNOWS U CANT KEEP DOWN FREEDOM
xDDD SJW gaymergate better PUA my redpill atheist rape van antifeminist alliance libertarian hispanic-american redditors
>>461690
Prohibition was very heavenly driven by whiny women. It was the early 20th centery SJW movement
>>461719
What the fuck are you talking about?
>>461709
One of the biggest ironies is that they're actually very similar. Opposite ends of the political spectrum sure but they love their moral policing and panic.
>>461709
>conservative
>protestant
Like being a conservative degenerate whore?
>>461690
I think it had something to do with protestant moralism
>>461719
>>461709
The comic code, Jack Thompson, whoever it was that did movies, all got BTFO already. Now we have to deal with SJW who only know outdated sociology
The only difference between SJW and those conservatives is that one is "muh objective morals" and the other is "muh equality of outcome" and "muh hurt feelings"

Funny, lips touching alcohol would be the only lups willing to touch theirs.
>>461719
I have no idea what's the point you are trying to make.
>>461709
>You seem to forget that prohibition by and large is also a product of Very Conservative Protestant elements in American society.
Same goes for the War on Drugs, with similar effects.
>>461719
Yes, no one was making or drinking alcohol illegally during prohibition.
>>461719
>less people drinks less if you punish them for drinking
Amazing.
>>461719
>people drinks less if you punish them for drinking
Amazing.
>>462599
>War on Drugs
Not really. The War on Drugs was started by medical doctors as cunts were poisoning themselves left and right through drug use during the 1890's-1920's. Also by Pharemaceutical Companies as they were paranoid over the lack of policing on the raw materials used for drugs.
>>461690
Then the current prohibition is also SJWs? But it's mostly supported by conservatives, so are they now the SJWs? They certainly seem interested in getting government to guide culture.
>>462656
>The War on Drugs was started by
Richard Nixon
>>462683
Lol, its been around longer than Nixxie.
Began with the crackdown on Snake-Oil merchants peddling fake cures that were mostly narcotics.
>>461709
SJW's are de facto quite conservative.
>>462690
The term "War on Drugs" was first used by Nixon in 71.
But sure, Calvinists where always anti fun.
>>462716
And conservatives are de facto SJWs. They're just fighting for a different society, one that suits them, and they've been fighting for a lot longer, too.
>>462725
Humans are by nature conservative. Not in a political sense, of course. Your opinion about gay rights wont change when you get older but your attitude towards change will become negative.
Liberals are the conservatives of tomorrow, in fact it can be seen already within liberal movements such as feminism.
>>462733
When a person gets older, they become invested in the status quo, this is why they become conservative. When they're young they aren't invested in the status quo, so they are more comfortable trying to change it to their advantage.
Anyone who is conservative at age 20 has no ambition, anyone who is liberal at age 40 has had no success.
>>462535
Top right looks alright
>>461709
The prohibitionists were not really considering themselves as conservatives, in Sweden, they were practically all on the left, rallying behind the social democrats and liberals.
>>463001
It was both a progressive and a conservative movement for different reasons.
Really just proves horse shoe theory.
>>463026
Radically changing society, enacting universal suffrage is hardly considered conservative policies of early 20th century Europe.
Are you American? Your founding fathers were viewed in the same light as the Soviet union by contemporary Europe. Saying that the uttermost point of conservatism were enlightenment liberalism is pretty cheeky.
I'm not saying women were responsible but it wasn't the dozen million men dying in France's fault.
>>461719
I agree with your point but you are fucking obnoxious
