You have a chance to go back in time and destroy one book or textual piece, be it a science, philosophy, novel, poetry, theology or whatever. Which would it be?

Hard mode: premodern.
Hardcore mode: none of the main religious works.
Impossible mode: a work that did not survive and possibly never existed.

Alexander the Great's "50 Shades of Hephaestion". That shit was nasty, let me tell you.

Luther's 95 theses. One church, one God.

I like this answer.

The bible.

No church.
No God.
No allah.

Obvious answers would be things like Luther or Petrarch. But really it's pointless, someone else would have come up with that shit anyway, and the reasons for their success are historical and go far beyond a single book.

I would try to destroy everything Plato ever did

OK, OK I admit, short answer.
Longer one : wanting to destroy the communist manifesto is utter bullshit. In its context, the book has been an inspiration for movements that really improved the lives of many European 19th century workers by introducing the simple idea that they were not exclusively cattle.
You may not agree with anything said in the book, and the reason you want to destroy it may be that you think it was the ideological basis of the worst aspects of the USSR. Read it again and compare it to the economical and social system that was actually in place in USSR and you will see the huge gap between the two. And if you don't you need better glasses. Good thing you have social security to cover part of their cost eh?

You just need an expensive car and a giant house to be happy, amirite?

And a swimming pool. Man, who needs spirituality when you got a pool?
No seriously, spirituality is not necessarily part of everyone's needs. But that doesn't mean they are all materialistic assholes either. I don't feel like I need spiritual guidance to give a meaning to my life and actions, but I totally understand that some people do and some don't.

The only thing the Communist Manifesto did was inspire Socialists to radicalise, violently overthrow their regime and destroy the already-existing economic infrastructure of their country, like it was in the USSR.
The economic and social system in the USSR was terrible and as a person who lived under the Eastern Bloc in his childhood I can guarantee it.

Dead sea scrolls and the Torah.
Wipe Abraham off the map entirely.
Hail Zoroaster.

The second part is exactly what I was saying of course the social and economic systems of the USSR were terrible.
But no, it is really not the only thing the Communist Manifesto did. In western Europe it played an important role in reinforcing social rights, creating syndicates, basically progressively normalizing the idea of social rights (euro sense). Besides, seeing the communist manifesto as the only ideological source of the USSR ideology is really narrow. There are a fuck ton of authors (Lenin and his fellas damnit) who played a role way ore important in that aspect.
Lastly, the manifesto was published in 1848, not in 1916, so it had plenty of time to inspire lots of different people's in different countries, many of which will have nothing to do with the USSR.

No *christian* spiritual guidance.
There's plenty of other spiritual guidance to go around and even more philosophical.

Nigga Aristotle was way more dominant in Christian scholastic than Plato. The Platonic part is basically just the external facade, but the heart of the metaphysics and theology is 100% Aristotelian.
