The Frankish Empire, the Eastern Roman Empire and the Caliphate, who was the true heir of Rome? Who had the most influence on the way the world turned out?
>>
Why not everyone?

>the Caliphate
Not even a little
>Eastern Roman Empire
Probably the most legit claim
>Frankish Empire
Depends on how you view it
>>
>>446583
I believe the Franks were responsible for European culture as we know it, Feudalism was propagated by them, they halted the Moors expanding past the Pyrenees, and they strengthened the position of the church in society. They were medieval Europe.

>The Frankish Empire, the Eastern Roman Empire and the Caliphate, who was the true heir of Rome?

Before the Ottomans, the Caliphate never claimed to be the heir of Rome.

The claim of Frankish Empire was exclusively guided in a dispute between the Patriarch of Rome and the Basileus.

The Roman Empire had no break in continuity. Just moved its capital.

>Who had the most influence on the way the world turned out?

The Caliphate, without a shadow of doubt.
>>

Let's see, it's a choice between literally the Roman state and two countries ruled by barbarians from outside of Rome in non-Roman territory

Yes. The eastern roman empire
>>
>>446486
>who was the true heir of Rome
Eastern Roman Empire

>Who had the most influence on the way the world turned out?
The Frankish Empire
>>
>who was the true heir of Rome?
Pretty pointless question, but both the Eastern Emperor and Charlemagne had the titles of Roman Emperor, much like in the 4th century.

>Who had the most influence on the way the world turned out?
Well the world is dominated by Western civilisation, which was born in Western Europe out of Charlemagne's collapsed empire, so that.

suprisingly accurate

Any decent map will have Venice shown from 697 onward. OP's map is just shit, it's inconsistent as fuck, why even bother defending it.
>>
>>447540
It was a small fishermen town, semi-independent from ERE, there is basically no reason to put it on a map in 800 except for its future significance.
>>
The Greek Empire was the East Roman Empire and the Frankish Empire was the successor of the Western Roman Empire.

I believe the Roman Senate survived some time after the fall of the Western Roman Empire. And there is always the Papacy, that could be considered the Roman Empire, in a way, even nowadays.

>It was a small fishermen town
>he doesn't know that Venice was founded as the designated capital of the federated towns of the lagoon, which prospered upon trade, had already slapped down bishops and rival cities around the region and would slap down Carloman's army just a decade later
Top ignorance m8. Also by 752 Venice was really only nominally dependent from the ERE.
Regardless the point is, why make such a shit map? look at, brittany, the eastern dependencies of the HRE (to be), it's just shit all over.

It's universally agree on that it's Finland. It's also proved by Finland being a cultural Mecca for memes.

No.

What do you think?

Or acuraccy, that its one of the things looked in in a map.

>It is not clearly known when the Roman senate disappeared in the West, but it is known from the Gregorian register that the senate acclaimed new statues of Emperor Phocas and Empress Leontia in 603.[35]

The Roman Empire was meant to defend Christianity. In this respect, only the HRE succeeded. They eventually made an end of the Ottmans' everlasting conquest towards Europe.
>>
why should the roman empire need a heir when it had existed at the time still?
>>
>>447485
This map implies that everyone just dropped Bhuddism in North India and became Muslim.
Which is indeed false.

It doesn't imply that at all though. Islamic world means ruled by muslims.

Anyways, the map is shit for different reasons, mainly the borders of the three world being completely random.
>>
>>447809
because it only existed half after the collapse of the WRE.
western christianity needed a protector. because the east-roman emperor wasnt able, willing or desired to do this, they needed an emperor of their own, thus a heir of the WRE.
