Assyrian Empire, Roman Republic, Han Dynasties, Frankish Empire (under Charlemagne), Mongolian Empire, Ming Dynasty China, Prussia/Great Britain, and of course the United States of America.

501-1001
I would argue that the Tang and Song dynasties were far more significant than the emergence of Christendom in Europe. Unlike in Europe, It was a very productive period for literature, art, philosophy, technology, etc. in China.

Why would the Assyrians be considered the most important?

I think the evidence of Carthage's maritime trade network far outshines the accomplishments of the Mesopotamian societies of the time.

Carthaginian sailors sailed from one end of the known world to the other!

Come on brah, even Herodotus thought that the Carthaginians' participation in the circumnavigation of Africa was bs.
The Periplus of Hanno is also pretty fishy.

1000 - 499 B.C: Greece

499 B.C - 1 A.D: Rome

1 - 501 A.D: Rome & Byzantium

501 - 1001 A.D: Byzantium & Francia

1001 - 1501 A.D: France, Venice, HRE and England

1501 - 1701 A.D: France, Great Britain. Austria, Poland, Spain, Portugal and Ottomans

1701 - 1901 A.D: Russia, France, Great Britain, Prussia and Austria

1901 - Present day: USA, Russia, China, Germany and "Great" Britain

You're mostly correct. Some of those should be split into a few different ones but for the sake of it, yes.

Herodotus is the one who's full of shit. Greeks always thought they were the only real civilization in the Med for hundreds of years.

The wars that were fought over Sicily are a great example of Greeks getting beaten, therefore poisoning their ability to look at or talk about the Carthaginians objectively. Notice how they describe Persians, Indians and Central Asians? They were top tier xenophobes.

Give it to the Carthaginians, bro. They were truly the Romans before the Romans.

The only strong contender is the Chinese, and they really don't compare.

Egypt was no longer a superpower by the end of the bronze age collapse, they were one of the few countries to defeat the sea peoples though, testament to how effective they were at the old way of doing things.

They did well during the Commonwealth until they got fucked

>How is feudalism going for you?
They were extremely successful in those year, including the expansion in to the east, defeating The Commonwealth, Sweden and taking the south.

>Austria

I disagree with your choice of putting Spain among the 1000-1500 selections. Unless you are referring to the Hapsburgs, I really don't think the Spanish kings were hugely significant actors on the European stage until the beginning of the 16th century.

But once the renaissance began, the Hapsburg dynasty was arguably the most important institution on Earth until the 30 years war.

Bless the Bourbons for keeping them in check.
