Accept it /his/. Accept it.

Accept what? That someone made a picture? I mean, that's hardly controversial.
That the guy who preached to "turn the other cheek" and not be violent and later went on to whipping people?
No thanks m8 sounds like a scam to be quiet honest my family man.
JUST KEEP TELLING YOURSELF THAT IT'S JESUS UNTIL YOU BELIEVE IT

Their doctrines are practically the same.

Not even once.

>There can be, bhikku. Here, bhikku, someone has the view: "That which is the self is the world; after death I shall be permanent, everlasting, eternal, not subject to change; I shall endure as long as eternity."
>He hears the Tathāgata or a disciple of the Tathāgata teaching the Dhamma for the elimination of all standpoints, decisions, obsessions, adherences, and underlying tendencies;

>He thinks thus: "So I shall be annihilated! So I shall perish! So I shall be no more! "

It was literally a Jewish sect until Paul/Saul made it more universal.

How is that even controversial? It's Judaism with just Jesus strapped on to it.

PAGAN STRONK
>>417350
Never mind, misread your greentext
Christianity still came from the influence of Hellenization on Jewish theology.
Paul was extremely well versed in both cultural traditions, and most likely the Gospel writers were as well.
>>417390
I am a different anon. Christianity came from Jesus Christ, with the theology of many other Apostles, Church Fathers and Doctors of the Church of a large variety of cultural backgrounds.
The fulfillment of the Jewish old law or the extreme importance of Greek philosophy in Christianity has never been denied, but you cannot reduce Christianity to those elements either.
Is that emblem of the house of gondor?
>>417390
You're a funny man, anon. The Gispels especially betray no real knowledge of contemporary Judean society, and Paul universally used the Septuagint, even when it makes errors, like his recital in 1 Corinthians 15:54. He very likely did not know Hebrew and was a Hellenic Jew.
>>417171
Stop, stop right now.
>>417412
>Septuagint
>Errors
Gesundheit.
>>417417
Because death will be swallowed up, not forever, but in victory, right?
Never mind that in nowhere in the epistles does Paul display any knowledge of Hebrew whatsoever, despite claiming to be a Pharisee, which, by the way, doesn't reconcile well with his preconception conduct in getting (invalid) permission from a Sadducee high priest to go a-persecuting.
>>417435
Keep in mind that everyone used the Septuagint at that time, Jewish people only threw it out and insisted on the """Pure hebrew""" when the Septuagint became strongly associated with Christianity.
Its the superior book by far, and many traditional Christians consider the Septuagint to be the inspired book, not the ""pure Hebrew"" nonsense.
>>417307
>>417447
>Keep in mind that everyone used the Septuagint at that time
Completely wrong, as demonstrated by Hebrew versions of the texts in Qumran, as well as other translations, such as the Aquila or the Symmachus, or the Theodotion.
It was only really in use by hellenized Jews (who spoke Greek) and even guys like Philo and Josephus admitted it was only on about equal footing with the Hebrew versions, not superior. A Pharisee? Suspicious of outside influence and clinging to a "pure" Jewish identity? Haha, no.
>Its the superior book by far, and many traditional Christians consider the Septuagint to be the inspired book, not the ""pure Hebrew"" nonsense.
Yeah, because the "Pure Hebrew" makes trash of their assumptions.
I mean, consider the infamous Isaiah 7:14 verse, you don't even need to get whether or not הָעַלְמָה means a "virgin" or not, because the next two words, הָרָה וְיֹלֶדֶת begins with a third person masculine past tense. So it does not mean "She will conceive and give birth", it means that she was impregnated (past tense) and will give birth (future tense).
Of course, you can't have that if you want to believe it's a prophecy about Jesus, so mangle away, and use a bad translation if you have to.
