I've considered that one-handed flails were used in chariots, since they probably wouldn't be the most practical weapon on horseback, but I can't find any worthwhile proof of anyone even using one-handed flails as a weapon at all.

i could see one-handed maces being used in cavalry, but wouldnt a flail be unwieldy from horseback?
