How would the would the world develop if North and South America didn't exist?
>>
Africa would probably be a lot more white and christian. Europe would be a lot less prosperous. Rest of the world would more or less have stayed on the same track. No delicious maize or white potatoes.
>>
Only North America has actually produced significant innovations of actual note. South America has been pretty useless.

Overall we'd be missing out some good stuff without America and Canada.

Don't forget Mexico there buddy

Freedom never would have been invented, and the world would be terrible.

flat women

Well it would be much smaller, the oceans probably would have boiled off, and we wouldn't be able to ask STUPID /sci/ RELATED QUESTIONS ON /his/
>>
>>385678
Considering the massive effects this would have on global climate, ocean life, the arctic, and basically the entire planet, this would screw up basically everything, including our evolution.
>>

Immense resources

>>385678
The world would be a lot more populated. When the Europeans arrived to the New World, there were roughly 100 million people living there. Had they lived in the Old World, they wouldn't have been killed by Old World diseases which they had no immunity to.

>>385686
The only reason the Europeans were able toe effectively colonize the Americas was because of disease, there was no such success in Africa because they weren't willing to actually murder the entire population to make way for white people.

I think we are running on the assumption that everything else stays the same.

nazi communism would have taken over
muslims would too
tl;dr it would be shit
>>
The absence of two entire continents would massively change the functioning of all Earth's ecosystems and climate systems, this would change history far, far more than americlaps and their 'freedoms' being gone.

Much more sooner colonization of Africa, might be an invasion of the Ottoman Empire and India as well in the 18th century.

Ireland is even more a barren wasteland

>Well it would be much smaller, the oceans probably would have boiled off,

You do realize continental crust represents a minutely small amount of the Earth's mass, to the point removing it all would probably have a negligible impact on the planets continued existence and the oceans boiling away is flat out bullshit. If your going to complain about /sci/ shit at least don't be a complete fucking retard

Yo are completely missing the point of the thread
>>
>>385678
>didn't exist

In the sense that the current countries would be different, or that the physical landmasses were never there to be colonised in the first place?
>>
The mass of the planet would be altered and the sun would fall out of orbit
>>
>>386155
But anon, colonization of Africa only occured after colonization of the Americas set the precedent, and that only occured because almost all the natives died of disease. The original plan was just to set up trading posts like the Portuguese had been doing in Africa. They only started colonising after Cortez and his ebin cousin already took care of the two major powers of the new world on their own, and showed that it was feasible.

There's no guarantee that Africa would ever have been colonised by Europe.
