Polish, the Germans in those areas mostly fled the oncoming Soviet advance. Any Germans who stayed behind were relocated to Germany proper. Germans in Poland are a fraction of a fraction of the total population.

It's actually either extremely Polish or polonized Ukrainian / Belarusian. When they annexed the former German territory they kicked all the Germans out and moved in the people who got kicked out from eastern Poland (modern day Ukraine and Belarus) by the USSR.

Well there are two Prussias. West and East. East Prussia was became "German" after the Northern Crusade. But nobody knows if the locals were pagan Germanic (or Balts) people or Slavs because we barely know anything about the region before it was converted to Catholicism.
West Prussia the "corridor" part between Germany proper and East Prussia is a little more complicated. It was majority Polish but had a large German minority. Those Germans left of there own accord after West Prussia was handed over to Poland. But regardless West Prussia had been under Prussian then German control for around 200 years. So fair to say they saw it as theirs and self determination was a new and alien concept back then in 1918.

Actually I was meming a bit with >>376551, but that was the official stance on the subject in the 1945. The first polish state looked almost like current Poland (as you can see on that map). Poland gradually lost these lands, however East Prussia was never ethnically polish. Nowadays, there is a handful Germans near Opole and a lot of Silesians, which are Polonised-Germanized-Bohemised Poles, but they largely lost their culture. All the other Germans were expulsed and keep crying about it.

The Germans were upset about the Polish corridor because East Prussia was disjointed from the rest of Germany. Danzig (Gdansk) was a mixed city with a large number of both Germans and Poles. Hitler's Germany pressed for a transportation corridor of its own cutting through the Polish sea corridor so that Prussia and Germany proper would be connected.
During and after the war it was ethnically cleansed. Poland shifted west from its pre-war boundaries, with its territories east of the Curzon line given to Belarus and the USSR while gaining territory in the west from Germany.. Germans in those territories fled and were killed during the war by the Soviets and were forcibly and voluntarily moved to Germany after the war according to the new boundaries. Koenigsberg, a German city, is now Kaliningrad and is almost entirely Russian. Danzig, mixed before WW2, is now Gdansk and is mostly Polish. pic related, Poland with its basic modern-day borders, except for the chunk missing in the SW which it got in exchange for Lwow/Lviv going to Ukraine in the SE.
This was all basically done by Stalin btw, he took as much as the allies would give him and Churchill basically got pushed around with FDR gone.

You can see that in the Polish corridor there were mostly Polish speakers. It would be incorrect to call it anything other than ethnically Polish (or ethnically Russian in Kaliningrad oblast) post-WW2.
