What was particularly unique about Winston Churchill
He was a good boy
he was a drunk
He could hold a grudge like no other.
Also, he went to meet Hitler in Munich in 1932 and, according to what I've read, Hitler got as far as the hotel entrance, saw Churchill sitting in the lobby, and walked away. Hitler pussed out.

He was just one of those solidly great men that come around in history. Honestly, that is the best explanation for him. He's very comparable to Theodor Roosevelt, if that gives you more info. Had a physical weakness in his mouth (though nothing like Ted's) that he got over, was interested in a diverse amount of subjects, believed in his country's greatness, was conservative, etc, etc.

he didn't do anything wrong
he was a fascist war criminal and nobody cares

He's the only prime minister to have a dedicated propaganda effort of a modern industrialized country, with an audience that was not cynical to such tricks.

Is gross incompetence particularly unique?
>muh soft underbelly
>muh periphery
>>366556
if nothing else he had some bitching quotes
He stood up to Hitler when no one else did and keep Britain in the war when everyone else was gone

While it's an exaggeration, people do seem to forget that Britain almost single handedly (with the help of the Commonwealth) held out against the Axis for a year and a half fighting in North Africa, Crete, Malta, across South Asia etc.
