Were women in the olden days uglier than today?
Whenever you look at the old photos and drawings of women considered great beauties they seem homely compared to today.
Was it a difference in standards? Would 10/10s today not get a second look back then?
Or was everyone unhealthy, full of toxins/fetal alcohol syndrome?

Agreed. Mixing races together averages features, creates healthier individuals in the inside and out. I've heard about a study where guys pick the most attractive in a list of 30 or something; the composite of the pics won out.

Remarkable ugliness comes from outlying features, so when you average a lot of ugly faces those features get averaged out and disappear from the composite, which no longer has anything that would make it especially ugly. But that's not how sexual reproduction works.

Those articles just say what I just explained. "Averageness" is attained by image morphing, not breeding. Race-mixing absolutely does not create more "average" or featureless faces.

You're very right in some of what you're saying. Mixing pictures eliminates defaults since are very diverse and belong rarely to more than one person in the mix; and also it makes the result quite symmetrical which is an important part of what we percieve as beauty. And mixing two humans by reproduction doesn't achieve that.
