Race quotas in colleges/universities. They help all other minorities, but hurt the Asians due to them being more successful. States(california) without quota have the asian american demographics much higher.
Exclusion from many graphs/statistics due to political bias. However, they make up about 6% of US population so theres some reason for that.
Invisibility in mainstream media (except as comedy relief, sexual relief, kungfu relief).
Racism from blacks/latinos due to success attained by asian americans. However blacks/latins can't be racists in US. So nothing happens.

There were a few waves of Asians, notably the Chinese during the "wild west" years, who came here to mine gold but ended up building railroads. They wound up mostly in California and set up local communities that would eventually grow into Chinatowns.
Japanese people came here in the late 1800s and early 1900s, and a lot of them became agricultural people. There's even a word for them in Japanese. Issei are Japanese who came to the US, and Nisei are their children who were born in the U.S. A lot of Nisei ended up joining the US Army to fight Nazis actually. They too ended up in California a lot, but to my knowledge spread out a bit more than the Chinese did.
Vietnamese people came after the VIetnam war of course, and the refugee services put them around the country. There's prevalent Vietnamese populations in California, Chicago, Houston and Virginia.
A few times during this, the US passed immigration blocking acts to keep Asians out. Actually they had to define what as "white", so they could prevent non-white (asian) immigration.

The US has always suffered from separatism since its independence and since the economy has tanked with little signs of recovery, there are fewer people who are able to participate in the consumerist culture at a high level of activity. Consumerism is extremely important for the survival of modern democracies, because by manipulating the desires and needs of the population states are able to sedate fringe and radical ideas within their respective societies. The rise of domestic terrorism and separatist movements in the US are a symptom of the current economic crisis.
