German infantry was renown
>>

In 1920 it was a mess, not renown.

Poles did rise briefly in 1919 in Brodnica county. Much wider uprising was prepared for 1920. The atmosphere calmed only after it became a foregone conclusion that the land will be given to Poland.

No they wouldn't. They were heavily Germanized and lived under a German state for several hundred years. Keeping them under Germany wouldn't change anythjng
>>
>>318898
>They were heavily Germanized

They were heavily Germanized until the 1870s, when Bismarck ruined everything with his Kulturkampf. He made enemy out of the Catholic church. Beforehand the Catholic hierarchy was staunch supporter of the conservative Prussian state and smothered any anti-Prussian activity. After Kulturkampf, the church ceased to silence their parish priests who served as catalysts of national revival. It was the parish priests who made the local peasants into Polish nationalists.

>lived under a German state for several hundred years.
150 years, not several hundreds.
>>
>>318898
>They were heavily Germanized
they were not germanized at all
>for several hundred years
for 123 years

>Kaiser doesn't abdicate
>Coup instead
>Kaiser retreats to East Prussia, it becomes Taiwan to Weimar's China
>Prussia stays hostile to Weimar, doesn't Anschluss
>Prussian society continues to exist after WWII

Could this have happened? Would it have been good or bad?

Germany was in anarchy. Nationalist uprisings on the border trying to assert that they want to become part of Poland is not unexpected. If they were told by the Entente that they would be still part of Germany and permit German forces to put down the revolt, that would be all.

Sounds very unlikely
Taiwan at least had the USA supporting its continued survival, and it was an island.
>>

The UK and USSR would have reasons to support the Kaiser, especially as Poland started to reestablish itself as a regional player and the Nazis started to rise in Weimar, but even without those things happening.
>>
>>318966
The Nazis establishing themselves would be pretty long after the end of WW1

Poland, UK, Germany proper, France would probably all be hostile to its existence. It was part of their demands that the kaiser abdicate. I just don't see it surviving.

The USSR (or more properly the RSFSR) wouldn't really be in a position to help them yet and it likely wouldn't be all that beneficial for them in the end. Our timeline they were on decent terms with Weimar and it would be dumb to make an enemy out of a strong Germany and Poland for East Prussia when it is all the more beneficial and natural to work with Germany against Poland
