As an Englishman it is a source of frequent amusement to me that Hollywood has decided a (semi) posh English accent is suitable for Ancient Greeks / Romans / any other historical culture.

The characters always start speaking in their own language, and mid-sentence will transition into english to show that they are still speaking their language, but for ths audience's sake you hear it in english.
