Was Jesus an avatar of Vishnu?
Pretty sure Hitler was.
>>286956
No, Jesus never mentioned Vishnu.
Vishnu is just another imposter.
>>286956
If that's how you want to interpret it within your dharmic beliefs then sure
But in actuality, no.
>>286956
Only if The Amazing Dildoni is an avatar of Brahma.
>>286962
Vishnu is the supreme soul
>>286965
>But in actuality, no.
How? He's a clear example of God descending to earth to vanquish evil.
>>286956
Um, no. Jesus was a bodhisatta. He learned buddhism from the Essenes.
>>287006
Except for the part about actually vanquishing evil. In fact, he seems to have been vanquished by the evil.
Jesus was the gay adopted son of Thor and Loki.
>>286956
no, but he was an avatar of the abrahamic god yahweh
>>287101
Returning from the dead and saving everyone from the darkness in their own hearts sounds like vanquishing to me.
Evil will always lurk in the shadows, but it never fails to yield when met with light.
Besides, Vishnu had to descend multiple times when things got really bad.
Jesus is quite obviously Kalantaka, the resurrection is proof enough.
>>287151
Religion is covered on this board
>>287006
Well for one, Jesus being a false Christ.
>>287229
Interesting, elaborate
Hinduism is a closet Abrahamic religion, stop pretending like you guys are polytheistic
>>287151
Seconding this. Religion should go in /x/.
>>287293
If someone understands the divine better by having particular gods who govern things, more power to them
There's 33 million gods, and at the same time only one.
Think of it like your Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
>>287293
Most hindus don't say they're polytheistic since all of the gods are just aspects of one.
>>287006
Jesus is a different being, apart from God and the holy Spirit.
>>287327
Yes. And according to mainstream Christianity, equivalent as well.
ITT: The worst kind of Hindu. He's one of those people that attempt to claim that anything good and spiritual is in reality just Sanatana Dharma. They like to claim people like Jesus and Buddha as incarnations of Vishnu as a subtle method of proselytization. This is similar to how Muslims will try to convert Christians by calling Jesus a Muslim who was really just following the path of Mohammed and the Quran.
>>287725
This.
Except Jesus being a Musim is part of the official doctrine for all Muslims. Mo knew he had to make his new religion appealing to the largly Christian Middle East.
Or, y'know, Deities don't actually have names. Different doctrines all have their own ways of explaining and conveying that which does not adhere to the rules of logic. No single religion is the right religion, they merely convey that an idea (and by extension information) can be taken and used in conjunction with personal will.
Jesus wasn't an avatar of Vishnu. He was god realised though, like a yogi, that he was God himself, one with Brahman, like all atma.
>>287934
>t. I believe that everything is the same and equal.
Have fun with that Shania law.
>>287941
All things are equal, yet unequal. They are equal in their equality. No snowflake displays the same fractal, no human is the same as another. Yet they're still all snowflakes, and they're still all humans. All things are inextricably linked through an all-encompassing oneness, this is something that cannot be denied as truth.
>>287093
This guy gets it.
>>286956
I have no reason to believe otherwise.
>>287093
>>287935
Wording these.
>>287006
Vishnu is a trout.
>>289750
Jesus was objectively failed Messiah/10.
I don't see any Second Coming.
>>289863
>yfw
>>289870
Jesus is still a failed Jewish Messiah tho'.
>>290037
>>286956
if jesus came after vishnu, he would be kalki.
>>287293
Abrahamic religion is closet hinduism
>>290050
You're still wrong though :-)

Christ and Krishna (9th avatar of Vishnu) certainly share a lot in common.
>I am the Self seated in the hearts of all creatures. I am the beginning, the middle and the end of all beings.
- Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 10 Verse 20
Compare to:
>I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
Revelation 22:13
>A day of Brahmå consists of one thousand ages and his night also lasts for the same period.
Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 8 Verse 17
compare to:
> But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
- 2 Peter 3:8
And many other quotes.
Followers of both probably do agree that both of those men did embody the principles of Absolute and would be called avatars of such. I still wouldn't equate Krishna and Christ as same person or even myth, considering those cults didn't even rise at the same time. In Hindu context, Jesus was more of an wandering ascetic/yogi when compared to Krishna.

Bro this board is for armchair shitposting, stop citing sources.

>vishnu
How dare you undermine the power of Indra, the one and only true king of the gods?
>>290148
>>287725
hindus don't proselytize you dumbo

As if

david tibet is so fucking great
>>291488
look at hare krishna
>inb4 they arent real hindus
>>292244
and they aren't. Prabhupada himself said ISKKEKS aren't hindus.
Vaishnava perspective:
Jesus is a shakti-avesh avatar - a regular soul imbued with the omnipotent power of Krishna.
>>287293
There are polytheistic and monotheistic and atheistic Hindus. Hinduism isn't a single doctrine, it is a conglomeration of multiple philosophies and religions based on the Vedic texts.
