There has been a lot of hype in the last 5 decades or so for getting independence from Italy, most of it is literal nationalistic garbage with claims and philosophy on par with /pol/'s "X populace is white" and "Nazis dindu nuffin".
Independence is not feasible, we're an island with some geographical advantage but almost no resources to speak of, laughable population density, tremendous amount of unemployement and terribly low level of infrastructures and general education.
Asking for independence in our case is not only preposterous, is literally signing your own death AND pulling the trigger.

Haiti is independant but they live off international aid. Just look at how they tries to convince France to give some reparation for 19th century events.
Sardinia or Corsica couldn't do well if independant because every other country in the area would do much better than they ever could. Only solution for them would be becoming a safe place for sucpicious banks, like LIechtenstein, otherwise the ressources would be way too limited.

We're one of the poorest regions of Italy already with one of the highest percentages of emigration, lowering the standards even further than this would mean either a civil war or the literal death of an island.
Our only source of income right now is tourism and even during the high season in summer it doesn't generate even a third of what we would need.
There's a very good reason why our independentists are laughed at or frowned upon, because they don't have a single thing in their favour, we're already struggling right now with what little we manage to produce, cutting ourselves from our main sources of income is idiotic. There's no cohesion on regional level at all, people are fleeing from this island already because there's no future for them while we are part of Italy and you think the situation would be somehow better by making it even worse for an hypothetical long run plan? You should seriously inform yourself before making such statements.
