Share your favourite YT channels that discuss various historical topics. I'll start off by mentioning Matt Easton, he's a historical weapon expert mainly focused on 18th/19th century weapons, but he also knows a lot about most European weapons used throughout history.

Another one is the fairly new Knyght Errant, he mainly focuses on various armours used around the 14th/15th century. He doesn't have many videos up yet but so far he's been very in depth with his descriptions.

Not sure if self bumps still work

Good start!

Ian Laspina or Knyght Errant.
Focuses mostly on 14th century stuff.

Beat me too it

Cheers lads, I guess LindieBeige deserves a mention as well because he's so popular.

He's not always the most well informed, but he does manage to convey his information packed into a very amusing package.

Matt is great because he has so much practical experience with the weapons he's talking about.

Isn't Lindy mostly a larper?
>>
>>3700
He used to do LARP, but he covers various historical topics in a more general sense. You'll never see him go very in depth on anything, but because he travels so often he does manage to bring history from all over Europe to YT. He's been in Malta, Sweden, Finland and of course England in the last couple of months.

Lindy is a joke. Fun to watch but he thinks his larping experience and self preservation theories gives him any idea what an actual battle was like and therefore how weapons were used,

Oh I agree to a certain extent. Again, he doesn't have much in depth knowledge on pretty much anything. But what he does have is interesting stories of him traveling across Europe visiting various historical sights.

He's no Matt, Knyght Errant or Skallagrim. The latter is a pretty good channel, by the way.

General bump. Come on lads, I wouldn't want this to die.

Shame OP bumping is dead.

Another one is Forgotten Weapons, his general focus is more on 20th century firearms, but he does review the occasional 19th century weapons as well.

Not a full history channel but the Extra History, videos by Extra Credits, are really well made.

No.

ThegnThrand is fairly nice as well, their focus is more on late medieval weaponry. They, like Matt Easton, owns various actual weapons (mainly swords) themselves and don't mind using them for demonstrative purposes.

The topics they cover are very general and often full of misinformation, however. They don't possess any real knowledge and it shows.

Kinda' like that John Greene or whatever his name is, some of his points are correct but it appears as if he read up for his videos on Wikipedia and therefore conveys a lot of misconceptions.
