The Germans lost WW1 as well as in our timeline. But the Russian revolution never happens, so it means that Poland, Finland, Ukraine, Belarus and the Baltic countries are still part of Russia after 1914. In 1930 the Weimar Republic change in to a federation and all federal states in Germany gets much more autonomy, the German Federation is born. Austria joins the German Federation and divided into six federal states - Tyrol, Upper Austria, Lower Austria, Vienna, Styria and Carinthia. The German Federation allying with fascist Italy in exchange for South-Tyrol, Trieste and Istria. Greece also allying with the Germans. Kingdom of Yugoslavia applying to join the alliance but is denied at first but after long negotiations, it becomes a part of the alliance but in exchange Yugoslavia need to give Slovenia to the germans and Macedonia to Greece. The alliance just gets bigger when Hungary, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway joins.
The Allied countries are trying to destroy Russia from within by promising Balts, Finns, Ukrainians, etc. Independence. They begin to smuggle weapons to the separatists and soon it breaks out a civil war in Russia.
In the midst of the Russian Civil War, Germany attacks along with their allies. They attack from two fronts simultaneously and wins over Russia, France, Great Britain, Spain, Turkey and some other small states. After the great european war many countries got independence and the map of Europe was redrawn.
*Ukraine got independence after the war.
*Hungary gained land because they were on the winning side.
*Crimea was annexed by the German Federation and became a German federal state. It made that a big migration from Germany to Crimea began. Many German immigrants managed to bring back the extinct language Crimean Gothic to life. Crimea got independence from the German Federation in 1953 after a referendum.

The map has the areas marked in West, South-West and South Finland where Swedish-speakers live in these days (a bit too thick at places, but the locations are correct), however there's also orange in Karelia and the Kola peninsula too, where Swedish-speakers never lived in any large numbers (to be fair barely anyone lives in the Kola peninsula).

If Poland is still part of Russia after WW1 - why does it have post WW1 borders that they fought for (inside Russia Poland borders were considered to be: western border - same as in the image, eastern border - similar to modern Poland).
One of the reasons why eastern border looks like this post-WW1 is that Poland stopped it's offensive because they didn't want to destroy commies for good and instead wanted to let Russians fight with themselves.

Yeah the allies did attack during the Russian Civil war but not the Russian Civil war that took place in our timeline. This civil war was a war between rebelling countries and Russia. Israel was formed because europeans did not want them in Europe so all the jews in Europe were displaced in Palestine/Israel. US is split up because there was a second Civil War between the South and North.

Well I figured that Romania would obviously conquer Moldova, and Ukraine would be split between P-L, Russia and Romania just like the partitions of Poland in our timeline. The expansion south is a result of a rivalry between many nations seeing themselves as the true Rome (HRE, Russia, Romania, Byzantium, Gaul). This causes alliances and rivalries to pass like sand through your fingers. Territory is bound to be won and lost.

Well in this the Gauls maintained a strong level of identity even after Frankish rule, and eventually rebelled. The HRE would be too busy with other conflicts to put too many resources towards suppressing the rebellion, so they just kind of gave up after a while. They didn't predict Gaul rivaling them in ferocity and determination.

Well, it's something I've seen several times in the past, and it makes sense to me. All these nations are linked genetically, geographically, and historically. I'd think that eventually some sort of reformation would happen, but instead of being German (as in this timeline they remain unshaken in their faith because the church isn't as corrupt), it's in Britain. No one remembers which British country this man was, but he believed that Catholicism had perverted Christian teachings and had become more about keeping other countries from attacking countries that were tight with the pope. These countries convert together and form a Union based on their ideological bond compounded with my previously listed differences, and build a trade and colonization empire.
