Like...the other day i watched a documentary on National Geography about some super giant fortress/buker on the channel islands.
Hitler had some major paranoia that sooner or later the british army would try to recover the island, so he depolyed lots of soldeirs, slaves and resources to contruct the whole thing.
In the end the allies didn't cared and after D-Day the whole island began to had food shortage.
