All of those but Lee Kuan Yew were lunatic tyrants. Park Chung Hee was known to have political dissidents and protesters tortured to death and turned South Korea into a religious police state that was killing citizens just like the North. Diem was notorious for blatantly rigging elections and setting up a very repressive Catholic regime that wasn't much better than the Northern regime. Pinochet overthrew decades of democratic rule, trashed his country's economy TWICE, raised unemployment, crushed unions and activism, and smothered civil society, and cemented his place as one of the continent's cruelest dictators with regular use of torture methods that sound like something straight out of the 120 Days of Sodom. He did all this with the assistance and silence of the West, and British officials even sheltered him from extradition to Spain when he was finally indicted for over three hundred internationalcriminal charges, including torture, crimes against humanity, international terrorism, murder, and various types of corruption. Suharto may have modernized Indonesia but he killed somewhere between 500,000 and 3 million people within a year (making so many corpses that some water sources became seriously contaminated or choked with bodies), routinely used death squads and other means of repression, invaded East Tmor and killed 1/3 of their population, and finally drove the economy into a nosedive and caused apocalyptic riots before retiring comfortably on between fifteen and thirty-five BILLION dollars of stolen money, making him the most corrupt official in human history.
