Because of Merovingian and Carolingian dynasties. Especially the Franks started to enforce christianity on other tribes. Just think of Clovis I. and Carolus Magnus for example who have violently oppressed other peoples with their Christian conquest.
And in general Christianity was germanized. Especially after a lot of pagans migrated into the Roman empire.
