Try posting a screencap of the rules, and saying something to get the thread back on topic without replying to anyone.
As far as what threads you want or don't want, use the catalog, ignore what you don't like, join what you do and like anon said above "post what you want to see".
We don't get to decide how good or bad the board is, what threads work and which ones don't, what threads live or die, or fail or succeed - even the mods don't to a certain extent.
