How was free speech in the Third Reich ? I'd assume that it wasn't good, but as they were leftist on the cultural plan..
>>
You could openly criticize communism, unlike in the USSR
>>
Saying that it might be possible that maybe Germany might possibly kind of lose the war got you sent to concentration camp.

Calling Göring a fat pig got you sent to concentration camp.

>How was free speech in the Third Reich ?
There was none.
>>
>>1389218
hah
>>
What made you think there was free speech?
>>
>>1389253
I didn't think there was, but you know, with all the propaganda anti nazi, and as they were mostly leftist on the cultural plan, I just asked myself that.
>>

During the war, there was an old man in a little cart, selling fish in the streets of Berlin. He'd cry out

>Fish! Fresh fish! Fat fish! As far as Goering!

One day, a policeman heard him, arrested him for undermining confidence in the leadership, and he was imprisoned for a year.

When he gets out, he tries to start his business again, and soon, the policeman can hear him shout

>Fish! Fresh fish! Fat fish! As far as... last year's!
>>
It was very good like everything else at the time
>>
>>1389406
>fight in two fronts
That worked for them.
>>
>>1389218
Could you openly praise communism?

Only if you want some striped pajamas.

Is this a joke?
>>
>>1389203
The Third Reich was one where "degenerate" art and books were burned. Make of that what you will.
>>
>>1391009
No it's not ya dummie. Nazi were pretty much at the center high of the political compass
>>

>mostly leftist on the cultural plan
>Hitler consistently worked to disenfranchise the working class
>Working class earn less than during the great depression
>Unions are illegal
>Fell in with wealthy tycoons, massively increasing their wealth

Why is everyone responding to bait?
>>
>>1392499
>be François Hollande
>be a leftist fucking shit
>keep fucking the working class and kissing richfag and refugee ass
I don't know how it works in other countries but in France the left has stopped fighting for the working class a long fucking time ago.
>>
>>1392568
This. I don't know why the CGT is still with the left.
>>
>>1392499
>everything I don't agree with is bait!! !! ! !baaaaiaiaiaiait!
holy shit end yourself as possible.
>>
>>1392622
>Agreeing with the idiot

You sure made me feel stupid.
>>
>>1392499
>>Working class earn less than during the great depression

Thats false.

You are also ignoring that Hitler gave out all the free education, healthcare, and general social programs that pretty much all center left government's enjoy today. Hitler's leftists program was leftists in the modern leftist sense, IE Canada or the EU. It was'nt Communist, but it was still "socialist" in the broadest sense.
>>
>>1389203
>they were leftist on the cultural plan..
lol what cultural plan?
>>
>>1392651
>"Compared to the United States, and after allowances were made for the difference
in the cost of living and in social services, wages in Germany had always
been low. Under the Nazis they were slightly lower than before. According to
the Reich Statistical Office, they declined for skilled workers from 20.4 cents an
hour in 1932, at the height of the depression, to 19.5 cents during the middle of
1936. Wage scales for unskilled labor fell from 16.1 cents to 13 cents an hour.
At the party congress in Nuremberg in 1936 Dr. Ley stated that the average
earnings of full-time workers in the Labor Front amounted to $6.95 a week. The
Reich Statistical Office put the figure for all German workers at $6.29." From Shirer's Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.

>You are also ignoring that Hitler gave out all the free education, healthcare, and general social programs that pretty much all center left government's enjoy today.

"Finally, the take-home pay of the German worker shrank. Besides stiff income
taxes, compulsory contributions to sickness, unemployment and disability
insurance, and Labor Front dues, the manual worker – like everyone else in Nazi
Germany – was constantly pressured to make increasingly large gifts to an assortment
of Nazi charities, the chief of which was Winterhilfe (Winter Relief).
Many a workman lost his job because he failed to contribute to Winterhilfe or
because his contribution was deemed too small. Such failure was termed by one
labor court, which upheld the dismissal of an employee without notice, ”conduct
hostile to the community of the people . . . to be most strongly condemned.”
In the mid-Thirties it was estimated that taxes and contributions took from 15
to 35 per cent of a worker’s gross wage. Such a cut out of $6.95 a week did not
leave a great deal for rent and food and clothing and recreation." Again from Shirer.

That does'nt stop it from being leftist in the same sense that the EU is though( which has actively worked against the european working class for years despite holding on to left wing ideology and methods). Just because the worker's didn't actually benefit has nothing to do with whether or not it was a leftist socio-economic program or not.
>>
>>1393357
>being leftist in the same sense that the EU
>>1393357
How is it being leftist?
>>
>>1393357
Which has nothing to do with what the post was doing. I was objecting to the claims that a) wages were better under the Nazis and b) that the Nazi's provided services making the burden of financial hardship less. Both claims are incorrect and the quotes were there to prove it. The post had nothing to do about the left/right political divide.
>>
>>1389203
>they were leftist on the cultural plan
What?
>>
>>1392499
>Hitler consistently worked to disenfranchise the working class
Nice communist buzzwords
>Working class earn less than during the great depression
Utter bullshit.
>Unions are illegal
More bullshit.
>Fell in with wealthy tycoons, massively increasing their wealth
So what

The typical leftard everyone. Go back to leftypol you cancerous fag
>>
>>1392568
>>be François Hollande
>>be a leftist fucking shit
That's your problem, thinking Hollande is leftist because he is in the PS.
>>
>>1392481
>the center high of the political compass
What the fuck are you talking about?
>>
>>1392651
It's not false exactly, as a matter of fact average wage in Germany didn't change almost at all between 1929 and 1939.
>>
Only government-sanctioned Opinions
They didn't have complete control over speech for logistic reasons mainly
With modern technology they surely would have at least China-tier censorship
>>
>>1389406
This, general free speech was terrible in all the world until the 1960s.
>>
A kid once cut a picture of Dophi from some magazine
he was shot

Those are not arguments.
>>
>>1394693
I know this is either bait or from a /pol/tard but I couldn't help myself.

>Hitler consistently worked to disenfranchise the working class
"Deprived of his trade unions, collective bargaining and the right to strike,
the German worker in the Third Reich became an industrial serf, bound to his
master, the employer, much as medieval peasants had been bound to the lord of
the manor."

>Unions are illegal
"The so-called Labor Front, which in theory replaced the old trade
unions, did not represent the worker. According to the law of October 24, 1934,
which created it, it was ”the organization of creative Germans of brain and fist.” It took in not only wage and salary earners but also the employers and
members of the professions. It was in reality a vast propaganda organization
and, as some workers said, a gigantic fraud. Its aim, as stated in the law, was
not to protect the worker but ”to create a true social and productive community
of all Germans. Its task is to see that every single individual should be able . . .
to perform the maximum of work.” The Labor Front was not an independent
administrative organization but, like almost every other group in Nazi Germany
except the Army, an integral part of the N.S.D.A.P."

>Working class earn less than during the great depression
>>1393309

>Fell in with wealthy tycoons, massively increasing their wealth
To show the right leaning policies of the Reich. There is nothing inherently wrong with this.

All quotes from Shirer's Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. BTFO

Having fun finding a respected source of information from which you can quote to counter these claims.
