That wasn't a flaw. He just realized that fighting for black nationalism wasn't the actual road to the equality he wanted.
His flaw was realizing that economics was the actual issue and publically acknowledging it.
I find it funny that both Malcolm X and MLK, for their differences, both came to understand that racial equality was a spook and that real equality lay in economic equality, both started to become socialists after this realization, and both were gunned down shortly after.
