I went to a museum last year which had an exhibit on modern africa, which is undoubtedly trash, but it was cool to see how the people there forged tools using trash they collected. Tons of unique instruments whose sound is hard to replicate with more classical instruments were created out of the literal garbage they repurposed.

Who's to say a family brought up from one race has more of an emphasis on education or test taking than another? SAT tests are NOT good indicators of intelligence, anyone with money and time can practice and achieve higher test results.
The most unbiased way I would accept an argument for a genetic testing is if you have two kids, one "white" and one "black", raise them together in the same social classes and neighborhoods, and test their intelligence at different stages. Repeat with different classes if you want.

Here's the issue with this thread: You specified "white archeologists." I don't mean to sound like a SpookyScarySkeleton, but that is displaying a bias against Africans in favor of Europeans.
While I'm not going to say it's not true that there are many white archeologists in Africa, I do not doubt that there are also many black archeologists trying to discover their own histories, who won't cling to the blanket of WE WUZ because claiming impossibilities does little to advance any respect towards the field. We don't know shit about the Germanic tribes besides Roman interpretations because the Germanics also didn't write things down as clearly or leave clear records, but interactions with a society that did gave them permanance as they settled down. No doubt there were also African story telelrs who passed on tales from generation to generation, like Homer and his Greek stories that were luckily transcribed, that were lost to time by conflicts, internal or external.
From my understandings, it's mostly just African-americans who cling to this legacy of falsehood like the Americans who circlejerk about their Viking heritage. I might sound rather idealist here, but I want objective history for objective history's sake. If there is a subjective history or false, like most of Aenid or Livy's, let it be noted that is it subjective and we can try to extract truth from it. I don't want there to be arguments about "better" history, or "more interesting" history, because everyone has different tastes and opinions on different time periods and nations.
So, to answer your original implication, regardless of the race of the archeologist, I want to learn more about Africa's history. Regardless if it has been destroyed or lost by Muhammadans or internal conflicts, knowledge acquired can always be learned from.

Stone is available everywhere on earth. Africa has some of the biggest quantities of stone. Egypt has a shittier and harsher environment than most of Africa, and they still built massive stone buildings thousands of years ago. You have to remember that many technologies are built upon the ones that come beforehand. Hunter gather tribes can't just decide to start building stone pyramids out of the blue. In the case of egypt, they were located along the nile river and had received agriculture and domesticated animals from the middle east. This enabled them to form organised states, and therefore have rulers focus on large public works, i.e massive stone buildings
