There weren't enough Goths to make a serious dent in the Spanish population. The Muslims are a bit more complicated, since Muslims aren't permitted to marry gentiles the two groups mostly kept to themselves as there was also a whole lot of resentment about the occupation. After the reconquista all Muslims were expelled from Spain or just straight up murdered so if there were any Spaniards that converted to Islam and shacked up with the invading moors they didn't get a chance to leave a genetic legacy.

There is no denying that Italy and Greece made several contributions to the arts and sciences, but Spain and Portugal are trash compared to the Anglo Saxon world and the Greeks/Romans.
Even the few writers they like to boast off are not that very good. Camões, Lope de Vega and Calderón are all inferior in poetry to Shakespeare, Homer, Milton and Homer (and frankly, to many other poets too), and even Dom Quixote is not that great of a work (I stand with Nabokov when he says it is a “A cruel and crude old book.”.
But if we step outside the realm of arts and into sciences Portugal and Spain are even more pathetic. How can two countries were civilization is very old, countries who were, after all, in Europe, and that were modern during the great explosion of scientific contributions made by Germany, England and France: how can those two countries be incapable of producing anything of worth when it comes down to scientific achievements?
It’s a sad and sorry sight. No wonder there is such a huge difference between countries colonized by Anglo Saxons and countries colonized by filthy Iberians.
