He made one intelligent choice in the invasion of France. Otherwise all he did was fuck up the designs of his Generals, among whom some of the most brilliant that ever lived.
As far as leadership, there's no arguing that his to power is the best and perhaps only example of his genius. Otherwise he ran his country into a bomb ridden mess while ignoring all criticism, explicitly stating that one of his greatest strengths was the fact he didn't change his mind.
