What went so right?
Nothing.
These are the true borders of Germany.
>>1353754
Austrian incompetence and cooling tension with Bavaria
Zollverein, Bismarck, realpolitick and the Breach-loading needle gun
>>1353754
>ever since that moment, Germany only proceeded to lose territory
it's depressing.
>>1353775
You're right Germany couldn't the loss of Liechtenstein and had to go crazy first about colonies, than the 2 World wars and know the EU
>>1353775
>These are the true borders of Germany.
Yeah, with a shitload of non-German lands with population openly hostile to being in Germany.
>>1355244
So it's basically IRL Germany, except with more Germans this time.
>>1355244
>shitload
Yeah. Almost one million.
why couldnt we get a catholic state + austria, and a protestant state?
also, who were the majority in Gdansk/Danzig, poles or Germans?
>>1353754
Otto Von Bismarck and the amazing Prussian armed forces.
>>1356932
Austria dun goofed. Metternich could only do so much. Sadly, Bismarck was also temporary.
>>1356932
>also, who were the majority in Gdansk/Danzig, poles or Germans?
It the city or the region?
>>1353754
>What went so right?
Bismarck was a true Machiavellian.
daily reminder that Prussia is a dead nation, like the Hittites or Avars.
Incompetent adversaries in political turmoil, Bismarck, the best use of railroads and the worlds best officer core.
However I think the sheer ease of this and the Franco Prussian war deluded the upper leadership on what Germany was capable of achieving through war. Bismarck recognized the value of diplomacy, the next Kaiser however did not
>>1353754
Right? Nigger there are too many Poles in the east and Luxemburg, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria and the Sudetenland are missing.
>>1353782
Bavarian compliance was bought for too high a price: worldwide guarding against German intentions. Bismarck should have provoked them into something stupid and simply forced joining them or Austria (obvious choice at the time).

City 100%
Whole territory ceded to Poland minus the division of Upper Silesia ranged between 35-40% German, with about 30%.
The corridor alone without Danzig was almost exactly 50/50 _after_ major resettlement.
>>1356995
Good riddance. Prussia was the cancer that killed Germany.
