1)If we had to name something as god what would it be in the modern secular society?
Something(could be a few things together) that today fills the same role as god did in the ancient world.
2)If we had to find the thing that is like corporations in the bible, what would it be? Or rather, corporations are an extensions or continuation of what(concept, entity, structure, etc..) that was described or referenced to in the bible?

The bible has had an immense influence on western culture.
Furthermore, the bible can be seen as a concentrated source of different perspectives about ancient life from people who lived back then.
Modern life can be viewed as an extension or as a more detailed version of ancient life. We run on the same basic individual and social structures and ideas but in a more detailed and complex way.
For that reason I think we can still use the bible as source of criticism while knowing that it was simply a book, written by people for many different reasons, some more sincere and some probably less(but that does not diminish from its value).

The internet. It's all knowing (technically), it can change or ruin people's lives (technically) and it has different followers (different websites have different ways of viewing the internet.) We just need to tweek it a bit more to be more suggesting based on our personal tastes and morals.

If we're going for a sort of secular holy trinity, I propose the following:

The father: Humanity
The son: The very first true AI we create
the holy ghost: >>1340588

There's a wealth of correspondences to be had - the immaculate birth of the AI, the post-modern theological implications of the death of the father (IE. the singularity), and the remainder of the holy spirit (the communitarian exchange of data and information across the virtual network)

But god in the bible is sort of a sacred cow..
It symbolizes something eternal, an expression of basic desires for something superior, something to strive for.
What is a sacred cow in our modern world? Maybe us being cynical or distanced is a symptom of something sacred that we do not care to admit as such?
In the jewish and christian world nobody would think to question god's existence. They didnt even realize it was something one could question.
For them it was not a sacred cow or a recognized taboo. It was a matter of fact which there is no need to discuss.

What holds such status today?
