didn't that guy die like waaaay before june 10th 2016?

>is that the joke?
>>

He's still alive. You can write to him, Not OP but i can post the letter he wrote to his brother after he found out he turned him in. Pretty heavy stuff
>>
>>1315242
Post it please
>>
this guy is fascinating, I don't agree with everything in his manifesto, I believe technology is ultimately a good thing and he blows some of the problems it causes out of proportion, but his insights into society and its collective psychology were like someone had turned on a light when I first read it. I was thinking of asking /x/ to help write a letter to him asking important interesting questions before he leaves us, but /x/ would probably ask alex jones style whacky stuff

maybe /his/ could help, or /r9k/

same with noam chomsky, could write a letter to him too before he dies ,though I am not excited about his opinions like I am with kaczynski
>>
>>1315242
I thought he hung himself in jail or got shanked or something.

I'm pretty sure he tried to hang himself. I thought he was successful though
>>
>>1315272

Kaczynski was pretty excited about Chomsky.
>>
>>1313910
You can tell the guy is really intelligent.

That reminds me, a guy was pretending to be a 10 year-old kid asking whether he should drop out of school or not, and he wrote to famous people, including serial killers. Their responses were pretty funny, including Ted Kaczynski's response.

Ted is based, he fully realizes what the primitive life really would be like yet embraces it.
Also, he REALLY fucking hates leftits/egalitarians
>>
>>1315215
Thus.

If he didn't murder people he might have had some influence.
>>

Charles Manson really is textbook insane.
I wonder how he ever managed to start a cult.
>>
>>1316017
Is he actually diagnosed with something or is he just being ironic?
>>
>>1315329
>you can tell the guy is really intelligent

I mean.. he was bound to become one of the best mathematicians in the world. That means he's so ridiculously intelligent, that even among ridiculously intelligent people he would stand out. I have met some very talented mathematicians (gold medalists at IMO) and they are orders of magnitude more intelligent than your average smart person, let alone an average person.
>>
>>1316606
He's been diagnosed with psychopathy as well paranoid delusions but the psychs that have worked with him have all reported that he's extremely manipulative. That trait doesn't typically crop up in psychotic people so I can't help but think this is all one elaborate prank with no end or punch-line. Anything to keep up the air of mystique.
>>

What does reading comprehension have to do with anything? He's a murderer and he's bitching about his brother getting him sent to prison. It doesn't matter if he pinky promised that he wouldn't bomb anyone else. He still killed and maimed innocent people.

>I want to write to him, no idea what I could say though

Could print out a thread, explain the various functions of the website (post numbers, greentext, tripcodes and so on) and give him some more insight into the internet. From the letters posted in this thread he seems to be completely ignorant of the way the internet can communicate information, which is saddening because he can obviously see that it does have an impact in some regard. Some insight into the cultures that dwell on the internet I feel would be very interesting to him, obviously you would have to censor elements to get past the prison filters but a few random threads with some decent discussion would do wonders to his perception and insight.

I have no idea how the prison mailing systems work but it would be cool to show him what anonymous discussion looks like.
>>
>>1319482
That would be cool. I did say I would like to talk to him but I don't live in the U.S. so I don't know if I can send him a letter. I also still live with my parents and I don't think they'd be happy if they discover me corresponding to the Unabomber.

It would be real nice if someone who is more able would do that.

>When a pen pal once proposed setting up a Facebook page for him, Kaczynski resisted. “I know so little about Facebook. But my initial reaction is strongly negative because the little that I do know suggests that Facebook is mainly a place where adolescents (of any age) post narcissistic self-advertisements in an attempt to make friends via the Internet,” he wrote in June 2010.

>In subsequent letters, Murphy and her students pointed to the power of Facebook and challenged his suggestion that individuals couldn’t command attention and create influence via the Internet, citing people who posted videos that went instantly viral on YouTube.

>“I have no idea what YouTube is,” Kaczynski replied. What did it mean to go “viral,” he asked. “It sounds as if the phenomena you refer to are what sociologists call ‘fads’ or ‘crazes,’” he wrote, citing an entry on “collective behavior” from the 2003 edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica.

>Some basic current events ("Obama is the current president")

Most prisons have televisions in some capacity, so watching the MSM news is definitely a possibility. Some even let prisoners go on the internet. But from what I've heard Ted is under pretty high security. Like, solitary confinement 24/7 level high security. But I cannot vouch if that is true or not.
>>
>>1319995
I think he knows the basic stuff about what's going around him, so I'm pretty sure he knows who Obama is.

>>1319977
They usually get to watch TV and sometimes even use the internet if they're on good behavior but Ted's specifically forbidden a lot of that stuff
>>
>>1319995
That's really great, I'm looking forward to your thread. Do you know specifically when you're going to make the thread? Just so I don't miss it.

>When someone interprets as derogatory almost anything that is said about him (or about groups with whom he identifies) we conclude that he has inferiority feelings or low self-esteem. This tendency is pronounced among minority rights advocates, whether or not they belong to the minority groups whose rights they defend. They are hypersensitive about the words used to designate minorities. ... Those who are most sensitive about "politically incorrect" terminology are not the average black ghetto-dweller, Asian immigrant, abused woman or disabled person, but a minority of activists, many of whom do not even belong to any "oppressed" group but come from privileged strata of society. Political correctness has its stronghold among university professors, who have secure employment with comfortable salaries, and the majority of whom are heterosexual, white males from middle-class families

Absolutely based

Obama doesn't order innocents to be killed, he orders attacks that can cause harm to civilians. There's no intent. Kaczynski sent bombs with the intent to maim and kill, there's a small but important difference.

Ted was trying to reverse the situation on his brother by making him seem the unreasonable one. Failing to understand that sending bombs to people's doors because your (admittedly interesting) manifesto wasn't getting published is a totally batshit reaction. And that the promise of "I'll stop being a murderous shithead" is not good enough to expunge the murders he already committed.

Ted may have been a mathematical genius but I think he genuinely had an emotional disorder or something. Not able to fully empathize with other humans and see them beyond a means to an end, in this case getting his manifesto published.

>>
>>1322002
Ehhh, I'm not sure. It varies in the visibility of symptoms; which vary wildly from autist to autist, hence the spectrum. Keep in mind that the self-aware will try and lower that visibility as much as possible.

They aren't inherently lacking in empathy, but in theory of mind. An autist is only as able to empathize with people as they are to both understand them and show this understanding through gesture. But there is no lack of empathy within that capability. It's genuinely in their best interest to act as cooperative as possible to re-conciliate for differences due to symptoms that can't be hidden. Many pick up on this.

Dear Ted,
Your letters were shown to me afterward I spoke with one of your attorneys, Gary (I can't figure out his surname) who confirmed that the jail environment is terribly noisy and demeaning. I both fear and in a gut sense know the effect this must be having on you. I know that I am the immediate cause of this suffering. I've passed through periods of denial, in which I tried to convince myself that my actions might even have helped you. But all of that is over now. I have had to glimpse my own cruelty and it is, as you say, a kind of hell. I do love you. I'm so, so sorry for what I've done and for how it hurts you.
