How come culturally, Britain seems so much more closer to ANZACS than Canadians? Same with emigration, there seems like theres tons of Brits with direct connections down under, but not out west. Is American dominance to blame over the north? Or were Brits simply never too interested in Canada?

I live in Australia, and the British people I know are seen in a similar light to New Zealanders, they're practically locals. North American Anglos integrate relatively easily as well, but they definitely take longer to fit in than British or Irish people.
Honestly, if Canadians didn't sound, bar Newfies, exactly like Americans they'd probably be treated a lot differently. Most people have positive impressions of Canadians, if they weren't indistiguishable from Americans they'd probably get preferential treatment.

I've lived in both Canada and Australia for a long period of time, and the two are quite similar in a lot of ways, looking past superficial qualities such as Asian immigration, government, and city development. Of course, Australians are closer to the British, but not by very much. Australia is a great place, if a little isolated, but fuck, the coffee there is shit and very expensive.
