How does /his/ feel about Men At Arms books?
A bunch of them are available here http://lalegion-pictures.com/media/pdf/ as PDFs if you've never read one.
I like the concept, but you can't fit a whole lot of pictures or info into a 50 page book.

Their edition of the paraguayian war was pretty good.

Looking for the one about the byzantine empire during the Macedonians.

Its pretty cool for the pictures but you can only trust shit Osprey writes in relation to 1700's to more recent years.
Beyond that shit is in suspect territory. Their Premodern Asian collection is particularly shit as it took fucking memes seriously (Chinese peasant armies, Ninjas, freely admitting they can't read firsthand Japanese/Chinese sources, etc.)

Butthurt Chinaboos will deny that better sources exist for China than Osprey, but always fail to deliver.

>《畫說中國歷代甲胄》
>《中國古代軍戎服飾》
>《中國古代實戰兵器圖鑑》
Just to name a few. Osprey is really hit or miss and much of their information is outdated.
