How do I learn more about the Rockefeller republicans.

I don't need the watergate story.
I want the stances and policies they proposed and accepted.
Autiobiographies

Any good books besides Nixon's own published works?

Nixon wasn't a Rockefeller Republican.
He was a moderate between them and the Goldwater/Reagan wing.

Nixon is often mentioned among them, though he ran against Rockefeller.
I agree slightly.

But he's way closer to Rockefeller than he was to Goldwater and Reagan.

Though Reagan ultimately was also completely different than what Goldwater was.

look up nelson rockefeller's stances and google "list of rockefeller republicans" i'm assuming they're socially progressive, economically neo-liberal
>>
"Other prominent figures in the GOP's Rockefeller wing included Pennsylvania Governor Raymond P. Shafer, Pennsylvania Senator Hugh Scott, Illinois Senator Charles H. Percy, Oregon Senator Mark Hatfield, Arkansas Governor Winthrop Rockefeller, Nelson's younger brother (who was somewhat of an aberration in a conservative, heavily Democratic Southern state), and, according to some, President Richard Nixon.[6][7]"

Not completely.
Probably more to the left than Obama or Billie.

good point, just read that they were in favor of raising taxes on the wealthy to reach a balanced budget as well as investing heavily in universities. why the fuck were they ever called republicans? they were in favor of preventing the spread of socialism though

Not a book but a good watch.

Rockefellers were pre neo-liberal mate.
They were actually driven out of the party by neo-liberals(And the far-right and other further right people)

>why the fuck were they ever called republicans?
Back then America was more liberal.
So things like universal basic income and universal healthcare was more acceptable.(Dick proposed both)

Richard was a true centrist. If he lived today he would be too leftist for the modern GOP.
Nothing like the enormous majority of post-Reagan convervatives.

Chris Christie is a centrist too but very different from Nixon. More like slightly conservative neoliberal.
Huntsman is a centrist too, though also different.

>Molyneux
I don't like the guy too much.
Along with his iirc outdated r/k theory

Though sometimes he has his good videos that are well sourced.
Will have to watch his one about Nixon

But one must remember that ideologically Molyneux is an anarcho-capitalist and therefore I don't think he will be too positive on big government Richard.
The Nixon who said "We're all keynesians now", no way Molyneux will be very positive about him

That's why I laugh when people claim Reagan wouldn't vote for Trump
>>

I already understand his tone.
Nixon is too big government for Molyneux.

But I do understand a lot of the hate, Nixon wasn't shy with corruption and it's hard to know what he really believed in.
But he had his merits.

I agree with Moly on the war on drugs.
Though I don't think Nixon really started it, he coined the term.
Policies were merely a continuation of older ones, and he did repeal mandatory sentencing for Marijunana.
