One day humans will look back on the period between 200 BC and 2100 AD and think "what the fuck were we thinking?"

In the future all of our resources will focus on escaping the earth. We will try to escape this place and explore the galaxy, but ultimately fail because of our fragility.

Not because of racism, or religion, or want for food or land.

We will fail because we are too fragile to make the journey. But as we approach that point we will look back and marvel at the pathetic history that we left behind, and the path away from it that we were intelligent enough to to build.

Wrong. Our destiny is in the stars, it will be achieved even if it takes centuries.

I'm afraid of eceonomics making people put it off until someone comes and finds us. Im scared of being spaceniggers/spacejews ("intelligent" species that couldn't get off their own planet en masse).

The truly scary thought is that we're alone.

Thats okay as long as a planet of milk and honey is waiting.

imo it's scarier than we'll find out we're not worth noticing. There was this book that made a pretty unsettling analogy about how humans are like a mouse in a verdun trench, they are aware of vast convulsions around them and just sort of skirt around them without realizing there's a conscious agent at fault or the reasons behind them.

You know, I can see that being the case, but I'd like us to someday be worthy of note.

Well no. As long as capitalism survives the era when communist millenials rule the West, then we will *have* to leave Earth. Capitalism is a hungry beast, ever reaching further to stuff its face with resources.
