Was the Bible and Christianity simply created to help spread Anti-Roman sentiments... Was it just Propoganda that spun way outta control ultimately seizing the empire(and eventually the world) it was created to denounce... The more I think of this theory the more plausible it sounds... What do you think /his/

The "Church" spoke Greek. Local churches spoke local languages.

Take a look at which language the bible, nicene creed etc are.

Kek, it is better for you to accept reality as it is. Greek was the language of the Church, not latin, not syriac, not coptic not armenian.

He's right, though. The entire new testament was written in Greek. It emerged in Hellenized regions and spread. There wasn't a Latin translation, of which we have physical evidence ( not saying it's impossible, but we don't have it, to be true, we don't believe we have any part of the original Greek manuscripts, everything is a rendition) until the mid second century, one in North Africa, one in Italy. By the later 4th century, there was some concern these Latin "renditions of renditions" had become corrupted and in 382, the pope Damasus commissioned Jerome to produce a "definitive" Latin version, which would become known as the Vulgate.

To the OP, no, christianity wasn't a "slight" to Romans, or a slight to anyone. Romans were very familiar with Jews, who Jews were, what Jews believed, and most of the time, outside of periods of insurrection, left Jews to their own devices as long as they didn't cause a disturbance. There was a period when "what you might describe as a christian" was not called a christian, and indeed the emergence of the word in the lexicon began as an epithet, used to differentiate "these Jews who believed they had their Messiah (capitol M)" from others. This happened because of visible proselytizing in the eastern part of the Roman empire which was bringing unwanted negativity toward Jews in general, because the Romans really didn't care if they were one "style" of "non Roman" or another, they just wanted them to shut up. So they were called "christians", blamed for every bad thing that happened. This, of course, would change in the late 60s AD when politics between Romans and Jews would boil over into a horrible armed conflict the Jews couldn't possibly win, but by that time, christians, for better or for worse, had their own identity, disparate from the rest.

It was not created to instill Anti-Roman sentiments. It was the manifestation of already existing such sentiments, acting like a catalyst. Religion is never the true reason of anything. It's the manifestation, legitimisation and explanation of what would happen anyways.

Romans 13:1-7 (NRSV)

> 13 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists authority resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you wish to have no fear of the authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive its approval; 4 for it is God’s servant for your good. But if you do what is wrong, you should be afraid, for the authority does not bear the sword in vain! It is the servant of God to execute wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be subject, not only because of wrath but also because of conscience. 6 For the same reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, busy with this very thing. 7 Pay to all what is due them—taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.

1 Peter 2: 13-17 (NRSV)

> 13 For the Lord’s sake accept the authority of every human institution, whether of the emperor as supreme, 14 or of governors, as sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right. 15 For it is God’s will that by doing right you should silence the ignorance of the foolish. 16 As servants of God, live as free people, yet do not use your freedom as a pretext for evil. 17 Honor everyone. Love the family of believers. Fear God. Honor the emperor.

The NT is actually very pro-roman and anti jew. Pontius PIlate even 'washes his hands' of Jesus and doesn't want to kill him but the Jews force his hand.

Luke is dedicated to a Roman man named 'theophilus'
