As you treat the least of these, you treat the Lord. Sometimes you see self as lesser or least and don't consider to preserve your own health in a venture toward self-destruction. In this manner you are causing harm to self, harm to God's creation and harm to God. You really shouldn't do it, but we mess up in all manners of ways, so you probably will do it anyway. Once given the opportunity of forethought , however , a smart person who cares for self wouldn't do it, anyway. So it just becomes an exercise in rebellion.

I don't think there's any specific verse in the bible that says don't do drugs, it mentions that drunkards won't go to heaven so it's fair to assume drug addicts would fall under that category.

I think for the vast majority of people this isn't an issue. We know not to do drugs or anything because we'll be intoxicated.
I guess if we don't know the effect it will have we just avoid it, I can't think of a reason to take that risk
