The most important is the one in the very beginning of the 15th Century, in which an indepedent city state fought the Most Serene Republic of Venice, and lost. The signoria and family ended for good in 1435.

Venice had the Duchy of Milan and the Margravate of Mantua as allies, the local Signoria had the Republic of Florence and the Margravate of Este-Ferrara on its side.

Before that, the city and family fought left and right against emperors, dukes and whatnot.

The area I live in was once part of the federation of tribes known as the Brigantes, then it was taken by the Romans, then when they left it was part of the Welsh kingdom of Rheged, then it was part of Anglo-Saxcon Mercia, then it was part of the Norse Danelaw, then conquered by the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of England, then conquered by the Normans, then sided with the King during the Civil War and was conquered by the Parliamentarians, the bombed by the Nazis.

So yes.

A war? Or a battle? Not really. But some semi-interesting things happened very near my home during WW2 and the troubles.

>WW2
>British pilot crash lands is plane in a lough about 2 minutes walk from my house
>Pilot crawled out onto shore, made his way to a farmers house, slipped out of consciousness
>Couldn't remember the crash, his fighting, nor who the fuck he was fighting
>Irish farmer decided not to tell him until he was healed up and well rested
>Few weeks later he sat him down and told him that we were winning the war
>Plane was only very recently discovered and recovered

>Troubles
>Some IRA smugglers were on the run from the brits
>There are ruins of an old castle; by ruins I mean one old crumbled ass corner wall
>IRA get behind it and shoot at any brits approaching
>Same lough the plane crashed in to their back
>Stay there for a day and a night before a farmer kills one with his rifle and the other two escape

>Troubles again
>UVF having a meeting in an orange hall up the road from where I live now
>One of them fell off the stage in the building and broke his leg
>They blamed it on IRA kneecappers
>That Orange hall is set on fire and extinghuished 11 times over the course of the conflict
>At one point, the IRA themselves put out a fire which was getting out of control and left a message saying "fuck all else to burn around here, see you next month"

Chile is a very divided country in political matters, the right wing is very procapitalism and the left wing is very "communist" (not so much given that the class struggle in here wasn't a revolution per se, the comrade-president tried to achieve socialist objectives trought votes). Whatever the point is that our generation still is touched by our coup d'etat that took place 40 years ago and put a dictatorship some years and I'm not staying on the point.
That pic depicts a leftist young man trought predujice: drinks a lot of cheap beer, dreams with Cuba "the socialist paradise", has a picture of Allende the comrade-president, a picture of Camila Vallejo (a qt 3.14 that became well known the last years movilizations for being a member of JJCC (comunist youth) and now of the party itself), a picture of Anita Tijoux (a female rapper with indigenous blood), the indigenous pride flag (that one with all those squares) and some tires to burn.
There's also this right wing version.

>Wolverhampton is recorded as being the site of a decisive battle between the unified Mercian Angles and West Saxons against the raiding Danes in 910, although sources are unclear as to whether the battle itself took place in Wednesfield or Tettenhall.[12] The Mercians and West Saxons claimed a decisive victory and the field of Woden is recognised by numerous place names in Wednesfield

At least three major conflicts and probably some smaller ones.

The relatively small village in Gelderland where I live once boasted three castles. It's not surprising, we border another Dutch province, Utrecht. Utrecht and Gelderland were often at odds during the medieval period.

Then there was that whole thing where the Duke of Gelderland tried to create his own empire and got into conflict with Burgundie.

And to round off the trio of major conflicts,: WW2. Not far from where I live the allied forces parachuted in and started their march on Arnhem bridge.

I'm in central Germany, so yes. I'm not from the area I now live in, so I don't know a lot... but there was shit thrown down in a big (local) way in the 11the century (Saxon Rebellion and later Saxon Revolt).

That's probably the first time this area was 'important' in a military sense. There were other intrigues over the centuries, but nothing super famous. WW2 of course. This area was bombed, but not too heavily. By the time American soldiers showed up, it was obvious the war was already lost, so there was no great resistance (except perhaps Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, which is not so far away. There were death marches and killings right up till the end).

Another tidbit of trivia... you've probably heard of Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin. Well, Checkpoint Alpha (the highway border crossing from West Germany into East Germany) is also nearby here. In the event of a WW3, this area probably wouldn't be worth a nuke, but would've been flattened by soviet tanks in the first days anyway. There were lots of British/American meatshield soldiers here up until the 1980s.

I'm in Poland. Eastern front passed through my country twice last century and 90% of my home town was bombed to ashes (I'm not even talking about Warsaw). So yes.

not sure if you meant this by "tiny indian war" but the Dakota tribe attempted to regain territory while we Minnesotans were focused on the Civil War. They got absolutely BTFOed, but its something.

I can say with absolutely certainty, there has never been a war where I am standing, even stretching back to the neolithic.

Basically the very first Vietnam. US "won" but did not achieve the goal of conquering the Seminoles

The Battle of Shiloh took place not far from where I am presently.

Spain built a base to fight indians, then the ruskies and brits
America built a base to fight indians and then tojo, then commies

Some, but nothing big. It was beleaguered by Hussites. French troops were beaten near by Russian and Cossacks and it was taken over by Soviets during German retreat.

I lived here for the first eight years of my life. The town was, and still is a forgotten piece of shit with nothing going on.

"The Battle of Philippi formed part of the Western Virginia Campaign of the American Civil War, and was fought in and around Philippi, Virginia (now West Virginia) on June 3, 1861. A Union victory, it was the first organized land action of the war, though generally viewed as a skirmish rather than a battle. However, the Northern press celebrated it as an epic triumph, and this encouraged Congress to call for the drive on Richmond that ended with the Union defeat at First Bull Run in July. It brought overnight fame to Maj. Gen. George B. McClellan, and was notable for the first battlefield amputations. It also encouraged the western counties of Virginia to form their own Union state.

As the largely-untrained Confederates had fled the battlefield with barely any resistance, the Union jokingly referred to the engagement as the Philippi Races."

Lucky, Ghent is a damn beautiful city.

Also, while not technically where my house is, the Battle of San Jacinto happened a few miles from here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_San_Jacinto
Battle that established Texas Independence, and a bretty cool museum and monument complete with the Battleship Texas moored on the park grounds. Santa Anna got btfo by Sam Houston who attacked during the Mexican army's siesta the absolute madman.

Many tribes gathered here after the downfall of their civilizations, maybe they had a war because they were 4 tribes or more, they couldn´t write and the spaniards killed a few of their leaders (they didn´t knew that they were so dumb)
Battle of the Apacheta (Spaniard conquerors vs their sons and slaves) 1km away from my house, we lost many true men/spaniards direct descendants for our independence
Chile occupied our lands because my country helped Bolivia .....they thought that we were heroes.
