This thread will be to discuss a global government and how it would work and how it would come to be. We will also discuss how to achieve this and maybe to create new ideologies.

Here is what I suspect will happen....
Around 2029 they will figure out strong AI.
Eventually most leadership positions (CEOs, managers, and people who make decisions) will eventually replaced in 50 years from them by more intelligent AI when it is seen that AI is smarter and generally cheaper to run things.
Now there will still be elected officials who tell the machines what to do, but eventually the machines will just cooperate internationally and since they aren't nationalist, they will just work in the framework given. Then elected officials will be figureheads while the machines do most of the work.
So most nations would still have their governments, but they don't really do anything.
Then the machines will set about colonizing the galaxy and figuring out how to reverse the second law of thermodynamics while they relegate non-upgraded humans to virtual reality.
Hell they might put us in simulations and give us the belief we are in charge.

The question you have to ask yourself is why. A machine with the intellegence of ten thousand humans but no drive or desire will not do things for no reason.

Machine learning these days are experimenting with reward and punishment algorithms.
So it will do things that humans teach it to do that rewards its behavior. This could go horribly wrong though.
