What do you think the reason is for the decline of religion in the West is, and what would you think can save it? Do you think we can continue on in the same religious institutions as modeled by our past existence, or do you think these institutions will be replaced by different ones (Neopaganist movements, Leveyan Satanism, Syncreticism, etc.) as we progress into this millennium?

Interested to hear your opinions, /his/, what can we do to revive the concept of the soul here in the West?

>what can we do to revive the concept of the soul here in the West?

Perhaps you should first ask why we would want to.

Religion and ideology are pretty much exactly the same. The west has always been, and continues to be religious, we just replaced one belief system with another. Right now democracy is our religion, and movements like feminism and ant-fascism are also like little religions.

because the DNA of men stays in the bodies of women for the rest of their lives. Without respecting your body as the temple, the seat of your immortal soul, what reason in there not to be a whore and ruin your chances of marrying and settling down?

>What do you think the reason is for the decline of religion in the West is

The dogma stemming from outdated traditions in Christianity, and the advances in tech that have disproven all the popular medieval christian philosophers wrong so people assume it's Christianity that is wrong.

>what would you think can save it?

Save it? From what? It's not doomed. It's in the process of change, like the rest of the world. It'll become more spiritual and personal and about the community and message of Jesus, instead of about rules and traditions.

>Do you think we can continue on in the same religious institutions as modeled by our past existence

Churches are places where the community meets, and helps each other out. As long as this continues, there is no reason it'll go away. All those other new-age religions you mentioned are going to be mostly fads, but they also don't have the same community, or the same giving spirit that major religions have (excluding Hinduism).

it's stupid shit like this that is dying. Not Christianity. Jesus doesn't give a shit about DNA in a woman's body. He gave a shit about the spread of STDs and women getting pregnant without a community to care for the newborn. It's not some magical curse God and Jesus are throwing down on people.

Dogma is dying. that's a good thing. Dogma is pointless, and is the equivalent of a rain dance.

It started going downhill in the 18th century.

Atheism has destroyed western civilization, family values, ethics and morals.

Immorality. The west just has abandoned all righteousness for "fun". They only care about themselves and about the moment. It'll only get worse maybe the Great Revival is on its way.

>Not wanting revelation to happen.

Absolutely speechless.

Good fucking riddance, took long enough.

>>Neopaganist movements
These already exist now, they will probably grow in prominence over time.

>>Leveyan Satanism
Way too edgy mcedgelord to ever become mainstream.

>>Syncreticism
Explain what you mean by this, as this is not a religion in and of itself rather it is the merging of two different belief systems producing a hybrid. Are you asking if that will become more common?

Maybe.

>Do you think we can continue on in the same religious institutions as modeled by our past existence
No. These are already dying.

Personally though, this doesn't mean that much to me, one of the benefits of being an atheist.

In the midst of pain, suffering and hardship people turn to religion as a moral compass, and as a way to connect with other people. Everyone's lives are becoming easy and convenient, therefore they rely less on their god for the comfort they seek.
