How come Cuba survived the Cold War but Yugoslavia didn't?

Cuba was much more closely aligned to the USSR

You answered your own question.
>>
>one country is an artificial entity held together only by the personal will of a strongman and aid from the neighbors
>one of these is a country that predates communism by some time

Venezuelan oil. Without that they would be starving.
>>
>>1098835
This, they infiltrated the venezuelan state from top to bottom and made it a vassal without a shot fired.
Castros know their shit.
>>
>>1098872
Venezuelan here, can confirm. There are up to 50,000 Cuban "advisors" (not sure if that many but they're in every sector of government at least) basically making sure the country gets sucked dry for "socialist brotherhood". Relatives in the military see them running shit from HQs at Fuerte Tiuna, the main military base in Caracas, where the Cuban flag flies at the same height as ours. So they push Maduro to be anti-Obama while getting Obama to open trade with them, and cucking both countries in the process. That's why they've lasted so long OP, Castro is a fucking snake who's been manipulating politicians since Khrushchev.
>>
Oil from Venezuela and the drug trade. No, seriously, South American cocaine cartels were in cahoots with Fidel and paid him hefty money for allowing Cuba to become a drug trafficking station on the way to the US.
>>
>>1098887
Has it got better now that Maduro is out of office?
>>
>>1098898
? He's still there sadly. The opposition won the legislative elections by a landslide, but the Supreme Court which Chavez stacked with chavista judges is there to cuck every single piece of legislation they've tried to pass. Nevertheless they're collecting signatures for a referendum to kick him out finally, the court hasn't found a way to shut that down but by god they'll try.
>>
>>1098904
Oh.

Shit. I saw the 2015 elections and figured shit would get fixed.

Well, as long as you can keep any more commie shit from passing, you can wait it out.

Are you not afraid of what may happen when chavistas are out of office?

All these Cuban advisors won't simple go home, neither will the "colectivos" that Chavez and Maduro armed to work as paramilitaries just lay down their weapons and surrender.

Any solution to the Venezuelan crisis will be bloody. Cucks like Capriles and Leopoldo Lopez won't be enough, you need a Pinochet.

It's better to create martyrs than let the commies ruin your countries.

I mean, had Chavez been deposed in 2002 when they tried that coup, he would have become a martyr, people will treat him like the guy who would make socialism work if they let him, and that would be annoying, but at least you would have food, energy and toilet paper.
>>
>>1098950
There's a danger though.

Look at Argentina and Brazil.

They're run by commies that used to be fish food.

You can't stay in power forever, and if you give the reds propaganda, people will bite.

Better to wait out the Chavistas and let them be destroyed utterly.

Turns out having multiple nationalistic cultures living together in one nation is not the best idea in the world.
>>
>>1098772
From the late 1970s in Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia nationalistic progressive and capitalist nomenklatura started using ethnicity on new racial lines in order to polarise society to overcome a crisis in state capitalism where a revolution was (nascently) threatened. Basically, fascism.

Huh, I wonder why OP

donĀ“t ever underestimate martyrdom
look at the church and Rome
>>
-Being an isolated island
-Not being as decisive against each other (I'm sure there's some spic autist that will bring up some irrelevant meagre detail of before the Cuban revolution, there was one population group that wore their sombrero in a different way or made their tacos in a different fashion than another that really pissed off another until the Revolution happened and force both to integrate, but that doesn't amount the same effect of having a country where there's different sub-nations where people speak their own historical languages and have different religious beliefs from each other and trying to get them under the same banner).
>>
cuba is homogeneous
yugoslavia isn't

there
>>

You're right. About all of it really lol. Just a pet peev is the taco crack you made but that's small potato's compared to the shit Cubans get pissed about in heritage. All Spanish country's, no matter how years later, still fight with each other about their bloodlines but heaven forbid an outsider makes a joke about any of them. Spanish pride creates the strongest unity.

The rapid industrialization brought on by western influence. It simply wasn't sustainable, such a quick change.
Inflation became rampant and western advisory needed to adjust, they did. But it was too late.
It's like a booger, you try and mold it while its gooey, but if you aren't meticulous it becomes hard and crusty, the equivalent of a failed state.
